"Rich and his team did an excellent job installing a very large patio, with steps, walls, and lights. Absolutely outstanding quality and customer service. They always ensured that I was completely satisfied (and thrilled) with every detail. Their price was way better than others. Very highly recommend them. They are awesome."

"Joe, Jose, Arturo and Mauricio were all extremely professional, prompt and did an excellent job. Not only did they build an extension to our flagstone patio including a retaining wall, but they reset our existing patio as the previous contractor did not set it right. Would hire again."

"Chris Apgar and Zach Murray from Patio Enclosures, Bensalem, PA finished installing a 3-season room at our home last week. We want to recognize them for the great job they on this project. Their attention to detail and pride in workmanship are the best we have seen. Their dedication to Customer Satisfaction is commendable; both are real assets to the Patio Enclosures organization. We really enjoyed working with Chris, Zach, and the rest of the Patio Enclosures team during planning and installation of this room."

"We had a wonderful experience with Cambridge Landscapes from the initial estimate visit until the job was complete! Very professional, great communication, and always willing to answer our questions. We were referred to Cambridge Landscapes from a friend and would highly recommend this company to others as our project came out better then expected. All of the workers did a great job! Thank you Cambridge Landscapes for the perfectly leveled concrete shed slab and awesome paver patio that you created for us!!"

"After we reached out through Angie's List we got an appointment right away. The owner came for inspecting the spot we had planned for the awning, took the exact measurements and helped select the fabrics. Just a few weeks later, sooner than hoped for the awning was installed. Installation was very quick including cables and indoor switch, everything nicely hidden under the siding.
They will even help us fixing an issue we have with one of our patio doors.

"Jay and his company are awesome! They listened to what I wanted and designed and installed exactly what would deliver what I asked for (color and deer resistant). And Jay continues to visit me, to service my concerns on a couple of plants that did not take (live) after being planted in Oct. Very competitive pricing too!"

"Dan at Pana Landscaping was a pleasure to work with. He listened to what we wanted. Ten dying bushes were removed and were replaced with beautiful new ones . The bordering Belgian blocks finished the work perfectly. We highly recommend Pana Landscaping."

Patios questions, answered by experts

A lanai is a covered patio with open walls, while a Florida room has sides made of mesh screens or windows, with or without partial low walls. In addition, lanais often use concrete or other patio flooring, while Florida rooms may have more indoor-style flooring like tile or wood. Both allow you to enjoy the outdoors without being in the direct sun, but a lanai doesn’t offer any barrier against insects or debris.

A sunroom may count toward your home's total square footage or living space if it meets certain conditions, which can vary by local regulations. Generally, for a sunroom to be included, it must be fully enclosed, properly insulated, and equipped with electrical access and a heating and cooling (HVAC) system, similar to a four-season room. It should also meet the same construction standards as the rest of the house. Three-season sunrooms that function more like enclosed porches typically do not count toward the total square footage and are considered exterior living space.

A deck is typically attached to a house and accessed via the back door. Decks are usually constructed from wood or composite materials. A terrace, on the other hand, is a raised platform that can be attached to or detached from the house and is typically made from a hard-paved material, such as paving stones. Terraces can be built on the ground or on the roof of a home.

The least expensive way to enclose a porch is with screens. These protect the room by preventing insects from entering and, if you live in a warm climate, provide excellent airflow during hot summer months. Screens cost far less than any other alternative, so if you are against getting permits, spending too much, or enclosing your porch in walls or glass, screens are the best choice.

Yes, porches require foundations. The type of foundation required, however, is determined by the type and use of the porch. For example, a screened-in porch won’t require a new cement foundation. However, if you turn your porch into a sunroom or plan on making it a living space, then chances are you need a foundation that’s more permanent than piers and posts.
