We manufacture Advanced Energy Panels (AEPs). AEPs are a retrofit for historic windows or any window people can't afford or don’t wish to replace. AEPs are interior window insulating panels and can be installed in any building –office, home or industrial. AEPs have a higher insulation and air sealing rating and provide greater comfort than most replacement windows, yet they are a fraction of the cost. AEPs are custom made to fit over existing openings, protecting, preserving and improving your existing windows.

"On the painting part of the bid, he'd referenced "siding repair" as part of the painting section of the Scope of Work. However, when the crew showed up, he said "Oh! I didn't notice that these cedar shingles were in such bad shape on this side of the house. We'll have to re-side this part." I'd had multiple bids for this work at this point and all of the other contractors had noted the condition of the cedar and had included the re-siding as "siding repair." However, BT and/or his crew acted as if it was the first time they'd seen that side of the house. So I had to spend additional, unexpected funds for this work for them to continue. The overall painting was sloppy and will require lots of touch up. One of our roof sections, newly-painted deck, and a window screen were all slopped over with paint. I had to advise the subs on site to use a drop-cloth on the deck (?) As the work progressed, things began to devolve. When I provided feedback on the work, it required lots of follow up, texts/emails with pictures, occasionally having him come over to re-walk the property to show him the stuff I'd previously texted him pictures of, his response time was very slow, and when he did respond the response was often incomplete and never included all of the issues we'd previously discussed. The crew would also not show up when they were supposed to and then would show up unannounced at other times. Our downspouts had to be removed for the painting. Not only were they left off during a rainstorm, when they were reinstalled they hadn't kept track of which went where, so they had to go out and buy new sections to reinstall them. Some were reattached in reverse order so three of them now leak at the connection points because water flows out of a larger pipe that has a smaller pipe inserted into it. When his "gutter guy" came by to fix the gutters, he said there was "truly nothing wrong with the gutters" - even though three of them leak now due to the improper re installation. The insulation guy he had come over to assess the house gave a bid that was 3x the amount BT had said it would be on the original proposal, and also advised me that it'd be 3-5 months before they could take the work on. BT eventually had another insulation company lined up for this work, but seemed to want me to sign the EPA paperwork that essentially put me on the hook for any post-installation problems in terms of knob and tube wiring, lead, asbestos, etc. BT had his guy take the siding sample and get it tested for lead and asbestos (additional testing charge) but forgot all about the knob and tube assessment. So I couldn't in good conscience sign the EPA agreement without being sure. I'm not sure what even ever happened with the new front door. I was told, after 5 months, that he "had it at the office" but no plans were ever communicated to me about when it would be installed. I finally advised him I didn't want his services anymore. I've become exhausted and dispirited having to do so much follow-up with no real improvement or adequate response to the issues. I've made a request for a partial refund due to the fact I now have to get a touch-up painter and have some of the downspouts re-replaced to even bring them back to where they were before this company showed up to work. That was on Feb. 20, 2018; no response as of yet. Needless to say I'm unsatisfied with the work and this company and don't recommend them for anyone."

When choosing a professional insulation installer, consider asking these questions to determine the best fit.
Will you address air leaks in my house?
Can you provide an R-value (heat resistance) fact sheet?
What kind of insulation will work best for my home?
How do you handle signs of a water leak?
Are you licensed and insured?
Can you provide customer references?
The best type of insulation for your home depends on what you need, so the answer will depend on your specific situation. If you’re building a house, structural panels are easy to install during the building process in addition to being the most energy efficient type. If you live in a warm climate, reflective insulation may benefit you more as it costs less than other insulation types. And for standard attics, loose-fill, spray foam, or blown-in insulation work well.
If you plan to heat or cool your garage, you’ll need to insulate the garage ceiling. Insulating your garage ceiling will make your garage much more energy efficient and save on heating and cooling costs. Not only does insulation make your garage more energy efficient, it helps reduce noise and can extend the life of your garage roof. You can use fiberglass, cellulose, mineral wool, or spray foam insulation for this project.
In some cases, you may not have enough insulation to properly regulate your home’s temperature. Watch for a few signs your home needs more insulation, such as:
High heating and cooling bills
Uncomfortable room temperatures
Ice dams on the edge of your roof
Roof leaks
Cold floors and walls
Freezing pipes
Temperature fluctuations
Visibly low insulation
Noise problems
Pest problems
On average, insulating an attic costs about $2,500, ranging from $1,500 to $3,500, depending on the insulation type, amount, and your attic’s accessibility. Additional cost factors include sealing air leaks, removal or replacement of insulation, and inspections. Types of insulation include:
Blown-in: $1–$4 per square foot
Spray foam: $2–$5 per square foot
Batt: $2–$4 per square foot
Structural insulated panels: $4–$7 per square foot
Loose-fill: $2–$5 per square foot
Reflective: $0.50–$1.50 per square foot
