"We re-sided our 1929 house recently, and during the tear-off phase it was the perfect time to have blown-in insulation performed to insulate our exterior walls. Ryan and his crew worked quickly and we are so much more comfortable with our walls finally insulated. We had a minor repair needed as a result of the drilling, and the company worked quickly to resolve it to our satisfaction. I will happily recommend them to others, and feel like this project pays for itself quickly in terms of energy efficiency and comfort."

"The Oregon Energy Trust guy was here at the same time, and said the crews had to do substantial work in the attic to repair fan ducts. From all the sawing and hammering I heard, it sounds like quite a bit got fixed up there. It was nice that the Energy Trust guy knew insulation jobs so well and provided reassurances that everything he saw was being done correctly. I'm not going to crawl under the house to see the new vapor barrier and new pipe insulation, have to count on their reputation and good word for that part of the job."

"It went really well, we had a few days of really wet and cold weather but I was completed pretty close to the agreed date at the end of 2019. We are so happy with the efficiency of the insulation that came with the siding and we have already saved hundreds of dollars on energy bills. We stayed nice and cool all summer long and now that we've turned the heat on, its amazing how toasty warm it stays even when the heat shuts off at night. Dabella was the best investment we ever made. And our sales rep Ian, has become a good friend to us. Yes, we recommend Dabella! If you want it done right, on time, with good quality materials and professional expertise. Nico and Seth Cordova"

"Roberto was the technician and he was very professional, polite, and personable. He inspected the rest of our system and told us things that needed to be changed or repaired. He showed me pictures of everything. Everything he told me about was accurate. He quoted me a price for R38 insulation , Some of our ducts were plastic and he recommended them to be changed. I agreed completely and didn't know they were plastic. I would have had them done the work but I had no price comparisons to make and besides I didn't have the money right then. So he just finished the vent cleaning and left his card. He did a great job on the vent cleaning and was happy with the work."

"Do not use this product for noise reduction or noise “deadening” as it does absolutely NOTHING (no matter what the sales person says)! I was told that I would not hear cars driving by and kids/conversations outside. That was a lie. I strongly believe in selling a product for what it can do and not what it can’t just to get a customer. With that being said the crew that came to install the insulation was fantastic! They walked me through the process, showed me areas of my home that needed repair that I would not have noticed and told me ways to fix it on my own with little expense. They worked hard and got everything done in one day. I haven’t received an energy bill yet so I can’t say how the insulation has or will impact that yet. Again, as long as you are not trying to use this product for noise reduction/”deadening” you will be happy with the product and the installation team."

"The guys showed up on the coldest day of year to add insulation to my attic space.  The job took about 3 hours once the prep work was done.  Blowing insulation is not a fun job especially for the man who had to feed the blower outside the house when the temp was about 15degrees.  Once the job was finished anything that was on the floor was removed and the house was a whole lot warmer.  I would recommend Michael and his crew to someone who needed insulation work.

Insulation questions, answered by experts

Insulating your basement walls offers numerous advantages that make the project well worth it. By adding insulation, you can reduce the chances of moisture damage to the house's structure and lower the odds of mold growth. You'll also add comfort to the space by reducing temperature swings and increasing your home's energy efficiency, potentially reducing your energy bills to earn your investment back.

Spreading tin foil over your windows works similarly to radiant barrier insulation, but not as well. It will reflect some of the sunlight that would otherwise come through the glass and warm up the inside of your home, so it might help a little to keep your home cool in the summer. However, the appearance isn’t preferable to blinds or drapes that can offer the same benefits. You might also consider tinting your windows instead, which is a more aesthetically pleasing change that can still block a good portion of the solar heat coming through your windows.

Yes, even though frost-free and freeze-proof faucets are designed to withstand winter weather, it is still recommended to cover them with an insulated cap, especially during periods of extreme cold. These faucets work by keeping excess water inside the home's heated space and using a downward slope to drain, but this protection can be compromised. For the faucet to work correctly, you must always disconnect any attached hoses before temperatures drop below freezing, as a hose can trap water and lead to freezing. Ultimately, covering all outdoor faucets, even freeze-proof models, is the best way to prevent frozen and burst pipes.

No, you shouldn’t wrap a towel, old T-shirt, or other porous fabric around your faucets. These materials absorb water, which can make your faucet more likely to freeze. Instead, you want to use waterproof, insulative covers that can seal tightly around the spigots for the best protection against frozen outdoor faucets and pipes.

Excluding carpet, strand-woven bamboo provides excellent underfoot heat. Laminate flooring is also good for insulation and preventing cold feet in the winter. Bamboo tends to work better in climates that have more consistent temperatures, while laminate does a better job at insulating floors in homes that experience more extreme temperature changes, such as the deciduous climates of the northeastern U.S.
