"Initially, I was loathe to install a home security system, but there's enough low-level petty crime in my neighborhood to make me change my mind. You can buy systems and install them yourself, but I am not a DIY-er. Omniguard handles all the install and they're a local company. Plus I had them swap out some of our smoke detectors that always go off when we're cooking. These may also go off, but at least I can "hush" them with the control panel instead of standing on a chair trying to reach the hush button. Monthly cost is $49/mo. So far so good.
