Great to work with. They had to remove 2 panels of both doors. They replaced for free. They could have handled the door panel installs with more care.

I would love to show you the pictures of the original door sections that were found damaged as the factory packing was opened. We also try to handle all door, openers and parts as carefully as we can to avoid any damage but we can't do anything about the parts coming from the factory with damage. We can only replace them at no cost to make sure you're getting the best possible product."

This is really one of those times that, the reason I gave five stars is because there wasn't anythinh higher. Dakota and Gabe (Gabe's the owner) were open and honest from my first interaction with them. Dakora came to the house to assess my door. He explained my options and I decided a new door was best for us (no pressure). The installation went smoothly and quickly. There was no rush just very organized and experienced. Without reservation I would recommend ProLift Garage Doors of Salem. Excellent work fair price!

The spring that was installed is 7 longer than the old spring. Replacement springs are supposed to be within 2 of the original spring length. Then they tried to sell us a new garage door opener because of the slack in the chain. There is supposed to be slack in the chain, when the door is completely closed. The measurement is made when the carriage is disconnected and, at that point, the measurement was precisely the 1/4 specified in the installation instructions that came with the garage door opener. The price was $50 above the quote of the original installer, but we needed it fixed ASAP. The technician idea of servicing the garage door was to spray the hinges with oil and let it run down the door (now I get to clean that up). I wish I could wait for the people I knew I could trust!

We prefer to address concerns one on one and wish you would have notified us of your concerns prior to leaving a poor review. There is a wealth of knowledge on the internet and in the world for products and services, but we hope you understand that services like this are not one size fits all and our tech is extremely experienced and knowledgeable in his trade and we stand by his repair and diagnosis. The spring we put on is longer because it is a high-cycle spring. Most companies use a standard economy spring, which is what we took off your door. The only variable that changes with the length of the spring is how long it lasts on your garage door. Spring length has no bearing on lifting your door correctly. Whoever you received that information from was unfortunately incorrect. We would be happy to explain how this actually works if you want to give us a call. And while you are in fact correct about your acceptable chain sag on your opener, where you are misunderstanding the techs diagnosis is that your chain sag exceeds the standard and is in fact due to damage to your chain sprocket and bearing. That is common when you have a chain opener that was operating a garage door with excessive weight due to a worn spring. Again, if you would like to call us, we can explain the issues with your garage door much better. We always appreciate feedback and enjoy constructive discussions about our industry. The fix to two mobile openers and one mounted one took less than 5 minutes but required know-how and a part. However, the man didn't want to charge me ANYTHING because it was so easy for him. That's an ethical business, if you ask me!
