"It's rare when you find someone who is as meticulous and professional as Tim at Beaverton Pest Control. He not only knows his business thoroughly, he also works like a dynamo to fix pest-related issues and to do so with immense integrity and professionalism. I would immediately recommend him for any pest-related issue and encourage all Angie's List members to consider him whenever they have a problem with anything pest-like.

"Trap snapped 2 hours after he left. Unfortunately it didn’t kill instantly and I had to finish the job as both my husband and exterminator not present. Had to put poor critter out of its misery. We are city folks living in country for first time and have a lot to learn. Yet very efficient company that uses traps and chemistry nontoxic to environment and my animals. We also have wasp and ant problems to be addressed later in year. Have great confidence they will help."

"Cyrus Neil was tech today and did great job. He even sprayed my hanging plant as he saw it was dying, my services today were dewebbing around the eaves, windows, doors, gutters, and j-rail. checked your bait stations, sprayed along the foundation, windows, doors, and gutters to create a barrier that will help keep pest out of and off your home. Great job"

"Edge has professionally performed our pest control for 1 year. All of the technicians we have seen have been professional, courteous, and communicative. They have been attentive and knowledgeable of our local pest issues. The friendlier pesticide has been good for our pets. We feel confident in their ability as they strive for complete pest control. "Debby Miller, the office manager, responded so kindly to my poor review, and reminded me that the re-visit was to take care of another pest issue that the service men discovered and took care of, after fully explaining the problem and my agreeing that it did indeed need to be taken care of! They did take care of the ant issue, and the other pest issue that I forgot all about when I wrote my review. The service people, James and David, were very courteous and explained everything so well and I am so sorry that I forgot about the rodent issue that they took care of and need to come back a second time to verify that it is resolved."

Pest Control questions, answered by experts

Possums don’t typically pose a danger to humans—they prefer to stay out of sight. If they feel threatened, they play dead instead of engaging. However, they can become aggressive when cornered, typically when they become trapped inside your home or when a dog chases them. When this happens, it’s best to call a wildlife control service near you to remove possums safely.

No, mice do not become rats. While their similarities may make them appear to be the same animal at first, they are distinct in their appearance, behaviors, and the strategies used to remove them. Juvenile rats that have not reached their full adult size may be roughly the same size as mice, making them hard to tell apart.

Spider egg sacs are meant to last, so you can't crush them. One of the best ways to deal with them is to vacuum them up and then quickly dispose of your debris in the trash so the egg sacs leave your property permanently. Egg sacs surrounded by little spiderlings means that it has already hatched, but you may be able to catch many of these with a vacuum cleaner, too.

Keeping birds away from a porch can involve a combination of strategies. Start with cleaning your porch. Remove food, debris, and plants that may be attracting feathered friends. Afterward, install physical deterrents like netting or spikes. Next, top off your porch with a decoy or two—and owl or hawk works. When wondering how to keep birds off the porch, it is always best to use humane efforts that won't harm winged creatures or the environment.

Wasps don’t sleep in, but they are relatively inactive at night, sticking to the confines of the nest, in what’s known as a dormant state. Additionally, female wasps hibernate throughout the winter. That’s why evenings are the best time of the day to attack wasp nests.
