"This company should be removed from Angies list and every other list they are on - I have been trying to reach them for the last 3 months to find out if they were going to do my backflow test -they cannot be reached by phone - when you call 503-858-7606 no one answers, and it sends you to a mailbox that is full. The links on their website if you can find it don't work. Today I went looking for their web site and it won't even come up [*** Link removed ***] - something is not right with the company. I have received a bill from them for testing this year, but since I could not reach them I hired someone else to do it. I will be contacting them by email and postal mail to stop testing my system without my permission."

Plumbing questions, answered by experts

Yes, a bigger well pump can increase water pressure—up to a point. If you currently have a well pump of 8 GPM, you might notice a pressure boost when you go up to 10 GPM. However, overshooting significantly (going up to 15 GPM for an 8 GPM home) can strain your well system and result in things like burst pipes that can decrease your water pressure and make for costly repairs.

If you don’t want to remove the sink stopper, pour ½ cup of baking soda and 2 cups of boiling water down the drain. Start by pouring 1 cup of boiling water, then the baking soda, followed by the remaining cup of boiling water. Use caution as boiling water can damage PVC or other plastic piping. Using a scrub brush or slightly abrasive sponge, clean the top of the stopper, and run the faucet to ensure the drain is clear and the stopper is clean.

Pipes are connected in a bathroom by a 3/4-inch to 1-inch line running from your water meter into your home. The line then splits, with the hot water line going to your water heater and the cold water line running into your home. The cold water line leads to the 1/2-inch water supply lines for your home’s toilet, tub, and sink. The hot water line runs from the water heater to all sinks and baths.

Food grease, soap buildup, paper products, and tree roots often cause serious clogs.

The design of freeze-proof faucets ensures that the water in your outdoor spigot properly drains from the pipe to avoid freezing. These designs keep the outdoor spigot pipe from bursting and protect you from related plumbing repair costs, such as ice building up in connecting pipes and water damage in the area around the pipe.
