"Joe earned my trust for his thorough & well-done work in installing my wooden fence and disposing of debris and old fence materials. He worked hard in very challenging weather conditions and completed the project in a timely manner. I'm very pleased with his work, and highly recommend him for any fence-related project."

"John was very prompt. He took the time to explain the work he was doing and answered all my questions. In the past I've had people recommend replacing the torsion springs, bearings etc even when they were not worn out. John showed how to check them easily and was very practical in his recommendationsl. I would hire him again if a need arises"

Small jobs welcome

"Juan and Dad did a great job with a steel fence for our front yard and kept within our schedule. My wife and I aren't picky people, so little things that looked a little off aren't of much concern. I would reccomend Ornamental Steel Fabrication and have them do more for me."

Wrought Iron questions, answered by experts

You don't need gravel under metal fence posts, but it's always a good idea to add it in. Adding about six inches of gravel before you pour concrete will provide better water drainage, which can help to prolong the lifespan of your new fence and maximize its stability.

Wrought iron fencing is the most expensive type of fence. Expect to pay between about $25 to $35 per linear foot for a wrought iron fence panel. The cost of installing a wood fence varies depending on the quality of the wood, but you can expect to pay between $1 and $15 per linear foot for the lumber.

Yes, many manufacturers and installers offer warranties. Confirm terms before starting your project.

Most homeowners who install a wrought iron fence do so because it provides security. The material is sturdy and deters intruders from entering your property. They're also built to last and won't rust if you purchase a galvanized iron fence. So, you don't have to worry about replacing fencing every few years like you might with wood or other less expensive materials. Most homeowners also adore the look of wrought iron fencing, which adds a timeless look to just about any style home.

The ideal distance between fence posts depends on several factors, including the terrain, the purpose of the fence, and the material used. For different types of fences, here are some general guidelines:

  • Wood and Metal Fences: Posts should be spaced between 5 and 8 feet apart.

  • Vinyl Fences: Spacing can be between 6 and 8 feet.

  • Chain-Link, Mesh, or Lattice Fences: Posts can be set anywhere from 4 to 25 feet apart, with 4-10 feet being common for chain-link.

  • Wire Fences: Spacing can be up to 12 feet apart.
