"100% Delighted with our experience with Sutherland Plumbing from initial contact with Courtney through performance of the work by Sean. We have found our “forever plumbing contractor” on the basis of: - Professionalism in terms of customer engagement, professional knowledge, and respect for our home as a worksite. Sean wore a mask for the entire visit, which was much appreciated. - Sean provided consultation on the diagnosis of two separate issues and possible solutions for each; fixture options - explaining differences and accurate quotes. - Sean arrived on time, performed the needed work to high quality standards, and left nothing behind but a newly installed toilet and a clean worksite...and an extremely happy customer. It is clear that this is a solid and professionally operated business that cares about their customer outcomes and seems to be seeking long term customer relationships. When I contacted Sutherland I was asked specific questions to not only understand what we required, but also the urgency of the work. Our issues were not emergencies and we were happy to queue up for having the work done within a couple of weeks in deference to those with more urgent needs. Without a doubt this approach to scheduling allows for more accurate time blocking and less pressure on Sutherland staff and customers."

"We had our sewer line spot repaired due to root encroachment. This is an expensive repair, no matter what company you use. They gave us a competitive bid, got us on the schedule, and did the work as promised (showed up when agreed upon, left the area cleaned up, and sent us a photo/video of the work done)."

"I purchased a large pedestal sink when Covid hit and discovered the plumbing needed work before I could install it. I called Henco plumbing and Joe came out and explained what they would need to do to install my new Pedestal sink, he answered my questions and concerns and gave me a quote for the job. Adrian came out today and reworked the 1935 plumbing and installed the new sink. He did an awesome job. The plumbing work is perfect and hidden behind the pedestal. The caulking work was excellent. I am very pleased and impressed with Henco Plumbing. I would use them again."

"James came out and quickly and efficiently took out old toilet, replacing with a new one. Polite and got right to work. I was impressed with his skill and with the speed that he got the project done. Leaving everything nice clean and beautiful. I like the way the company sends a pic of the person coming out, and felt safe with him being here. I’ll def use this company again for even bigger projects."

"I had someone else do it. They were alright. I got it done a lot cheaper. The quality of the quote was way off. I had another quote and the stuff he quoted was way off, like the counter tops.  He was on time. He was professional. I have some bathrooms to do and I may call him for another quote but he's going to have to do a lot better."

"They installed a new proper sized washing machine hose instead of telling us we needed a new drain line; also installed a new toilet in less that 45 minutes. Everything works perfectly. They were friendly, reasonably priced and even worked on Saturday for no extra charge. Nice people!"

"I had a small leak that turned out to be a significantly bigger project than I thought. The axiom team was so helpful and explained things along the way. They were very great to work with throughout the twists and turns of this project. They were also the only plumbing company that I found that would cut the concrete, dig out the pipes, replace them, and redo the concrete. All others always needed a second company to come in and help and were much more expensive quotes. I would recommend this company."

Toilets questions, answered by experts

The average cost to replace a toilet seal ring is around $50 to $200 if you hire a pro to do the job. If you do it yourself, you’ll only need to pay for the supplies. Wax rings alone cost anywhere from $5 to $25 at hardware stores and can save you a lot of money compared to having a professional installation. At the same time, a licensed plumber knows how to properly install your new wax ring to prevent premature issues down the line.

The average cost to replace a toilet fill valve is around $100, and prices range from $50 up to $150, depending on your location, the experience of the plumber, and how accessible your toilet is. In most cases, a professional plumber can replace your fill valve in under an hour, although it might take longer if they also need to fix or replace other components at the same time.

The first step to clearing the air in a line is to locate the cause. This is usually a blockage in either the drain or the venting system. Once you clear the issue, flush the system by actually flushing the toilets repeatedly. This should allow the trapped air to escape, thus clearing the lines. Don’t be surprised if there is increased bubbling as the air makes its way through the system.

While you shouldn’t increase the flow of your low-flow toilet by adjusting the water level in the toilet bowl set by the manufacturer, you can make the flow as efficient as possible by ensuring the rim jets under the rim are unobstructed. To do this, use a mirror to look under the rim and scrub them with a toothbrush or a small wire to clear any debris stuck in the holes. You can also watch for leaks, make sure the internal components are in good shape, and replace them if necessary.

DIY is not recommended for commercial settings due to safety and code compliance. Hire licensed professionals.
