"Great! Eliseo and crew were on time. Removal/install took several hours, but only because of the attention given to each detail of install. He explained in detail what he was doing. Very meticulous! He gave me confidence in his expertise. I'm extremely satisfied with the finished result. I will hire HVAC Ministries for future services. Eliseo is a "people person " and very easy to work with"

"Estimator arrived on time and checked 49 year old A/C and gave quote on new unit as well as repair. We authorized replacement and a date and cost was given, work was done on time, installers were very professional and friendly. Would have liked itemized bill that showed cost of each item, but would use them again. Very happy."

"Our old gas boiler/furnace quit working at the end of January. Roth was very responsive to our dilemma and sent Dale Johnson, Service Technician, to inspect and assess the situation. Dale determined that various parts would need to be replaced, but because of the age of our boiler, parts were no longer available. We made the decision to replace it. Lisa obtained the necessary permits, and Dale continually updated us on status, removed the old boiler and installed the new one in record time (just before the deep freeze hit Oregon). They also arranged for the county and state inspections. Dale was very professional, responsive and conscientious throughout this project, I would highly recommend Roth Heating & Cooling."

"The whole process was great. They were quick to respond and able to fit us in for an appointment within a week. Tom let us know what we could do ourselves to help save cost. He was such a big help when I had questions by responding either by phone call or coming out to the house. The two young installers were on time, polite, professional and knowledgeable. They did an amazing job of getting everything installed and even figured out a more efficient way to get the wiring out to the hot tub area. After we receive the hot tub they will be coming back out to finish up the wiring. I would highly recommend their services for any electrical needs."

Install Boiler questions, answered by experts

Steam boilers require flushing at least every six to 12 months to keep them operating effectively for as long as possible. Depending on your water quality and frequency of use, you might need to do this more frequently. The flushing process helps to remove problematic buildup of sediments. While a boiler contractor near you can perform a thorough annual flush, learning how to drain the system yourself means you can do this monthly if you experience speedy mineral accumulation because of hard water.

Yes, you can build a sunroom addition to your home despite living in a cold climate. Make sure to use high-quality insulation and windows and to supplement with sufficient heating from your HVAC system. The windows in the sunroom allow enough natural light into the room to help heat it most times without having to use the furnace. Even a small electric fireplace can heat the sunroom well enough.

To figure out if your boiler is worth repairing or if you need to replace your boiler, first figure out how old the unit is. Boilers last 15 to 20 years, so if your unit is 15 years old or older, it may be better to replace the entire thing depending on the severity of the problems. If it’s not quite that old, then it’s probably worth repairing. Another thing to consider is whether your warranty covers any of the repair costs. If so, it may be worthwhile to repair your boiler to keep it running.

The average cost to replace or install a new HVAC system is around $7,500. However, the price can range from $5,000 to $12,500, depending on factors like the size of your home, the type and brand of the unit, and your specific heating and cooling needs. If you only need to replace certain components, the cost will be lower; for example, a new AC unit can cost between $2,200 and $5,500, while a new furnace costs $3,200 to $6,000. If additional work like new ductwork is required, the total cost could be as high as $22,000. It's best to contact a local HVAC company for an accurate quote.

Generally, an oil furnace is considered safer than a gas furnace for several reasons. While both types of furnaces can produce carbon monoxide, a leak in an oil furnace is easier to detect due to the smell. Oil furnaces also don't connect to a gas pipeline, which reduces the chance of a fuel leak. Most importantly, heating oil is not combustible, whereas natural gas is highly flammable. This means there is a much lower risk of combustion or explosion with an oil furnace. However, an oil furnace can still pose a fire hazard if it tips over.
