"It went great!  From Travis the sales person to Noah the installer I couldn't have asked for a more professional and through team to deliver my home security needs.  We just bought a new house in a neighborhood that's up and coming but there's still an element that we want to protect our home and valuable from.  Security One helped us find a system that we could monitor while we're away and that would make my girlfriend feel safe when I'm not a home.  We highly recommend them especially Travis and Noah.  Ask for them by name!

"They system was installed for the basic, but anything that you wanted needed to be higher upgraded require alot of extra money for every upgrade.
The 36.99 monthly fee was for only if your system is connected to a landline. I didnnt notice that they charge me $44.99 until my 1st month fee. Thats when I was told that they charge $44.99 because the alram was connected to my cable line instead. I was unaware of the different charges. When tec came out he didnt show up to fix the corrected. Had to call the main company for the no show. So they schedule another appointment and offered 2 window alarms to fix the correction but my bill still is $44.99. Default is that since I didnt have extra money to upgrade to the Pulse, you dont know if you turn the alarm to your house properly. I called the 800 number and they cant tell either!

Home Security Systems questions, answered by experts

While many security cameras rely on an internet connection to transmit footage and store it in the cloud, not all of them stop working when the Wi-Fi is off. Some models are designed to function offline by using local storage options, such as a microSD card or a network-attached storage (NAS) device. These cameras can continue to record footage even without an internet connection. You can then access the stored data once the Wi-Fi is restored.

The biggest downside to a wireless security camera is that it's 100% reliant on Wi-Fi to capture footage at your home. Even when Wi-Fi is reliable, the range for wireless cameras may only be 200 feet or less. Drywall, brick, and other materials in your home can be enough to make your signal lag.

A home security system can be a worthwhile investment for several reasons. Financially, it may qualify you for a discount of up to 20% on your home insurance premiums, which can help offset the initial setup costs and any ongoing monitoring or subscription fees. For many, the primary benefit is the peace of mind that comes with enhanced security, especially for those living in areas with higher crime rates. Ultimately, whether a system is worth it depends on your personal preferences, the value of the assets you wish to protect, and your overall safety concerns.

This is the topic of much debate, though there is no “better,” as it depends on personal preferences. Some of the components of a wireless system keep working when the power goes out, as they are battery-powered. On the other hand, a wireless system typically connects to your modem and router. Wired systems use landlines to communicate, which never go out on their own unless they’re physically cut.

Grounding is a great first step to prevent electrical shock, but you can take it further with GFCI outlets and AFCIs (arc fault circuit interrupters). In particular, AFCIs help protect against the type of electrical arcs that cause fires, like if a mouse chews on a wire or your laptop starts overheating at the wall. These are required in some areas of your home.
