"I have priced between 3 Angie's List's recommended arborists, and found Grant's to be the best value for the job sought. One company was unable to do stump grinding, while the third company was twice as much. His crew were professionally trained, and was able to complete the job the same day in two hours flat. The reason being was due to having the best equipment on hand including a cherry-picker, a grinder truck, and appropriate power tools. Their cleanup was equally as amazing, as they cleaned up as they went along the task and it was as if they never came. The pile of chips left from the stump grinding was the only clue that they were even there! I would hire them in a heartbeat. Daniel M. Grove City, OH"

"Fantastic! They did a great job of reshaping the tree and removing limbs that were growing towards our home. They also cabled limbs that were needing extra support and they thinned our tree to make it less resistant to high winds. We are so proud of the work they did and the cleanup they provided was superb too! We are very satisfied customers!"

"I have a rather large yard with a lot of plants and trees that sadly got a little out of control. This company did an amazing clean up job. I couldn’t even tell it was that same place. I Am so empressed with how wonderful everything looks. They took their time and made sure every area was beautiful. The edging and mulching was spot on. They even got on the roof for me to remove a branch that was hanging and laying on the roof. You need landscaping, victor and his team are the ones to hire."

"Finding a reliable and trustworthy landscaping company is difficult. Shane and his crew fulfilled my quest. They undertook a project to cleanup a yard and shrub beds after nearly two years of neglect. Other landscaping companies base their quotes on requested photos. Shane took the time to personally walk the property with me and take notes on details. Additionally, he followed up with progress inspections, as the work progressed. His crew was polite, professional and hard working. I was totally satisfied with their performance on a very challenging project."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

The costs vary from $250 to $5,000 per tree, depending on the size, complexity of the trimming, and labor.

A tree growing close to a house can pose several risks, but removal isn't always the only or best solution. Potential problems include roots growing into the foundation and causing structural cracks, branches damaging the roof or promoting moss growth, and debris clogging gutters, which can lead to water damage. Trees can also provide access for pests and encourage mold. However, a small, healthy tree may not be a problem, and for larger, established trees, strategic trimming can be a cheaper and more beneficial alternative to removal. It is generally recommended to take action for trees within 10 to 20 feet of your home, especially if they are unhealthy or encroaching. Your best bet is to consult a professional arborist who can assess the specific situation and provide expert advice.

No, you cannot plant a tree above a gas line. Tree roots grow and spread over time and can sometimes dent, crack, or penetrate a gas line. Those same roots may also cause accessibility problems for maintenance or repairs. You can generally plant vegetation with non-invasive root systems, low-growing vegetation, and flower beds near gas lines.

Leaving a dead tree can expose your other trees to potential diseases, pests, and fungi, and it can also be a hazard. If your tree is dead, then you should hire a tree maintenance service to remove it. Cutting down trees is extremely dangerous, and a professional can ensure no one gets hurt and there is no damage to your property. Tree removal costs between $200 and $2,000 and will prevent future issues and keep you and your property safe.

A standard tree removal doesn’t include stump grinding. If you want your contractor to remove your tree and grind the stump, you must pay an extra charge. That said, you’ll likely save on the cost of stand-alone service—especially if it’s a small tree and they can finish both jobs in a single trip.
