"Jorge and his team did an excellent job. They were on time, courteous and they did the job really fast for a fair price. They took down three very large oak trees and several small trees. I would recommend them to anyone who needs tree service."

"Grants Tree Service did great job. I worked with Paul Dotson through Angie's List's messaging feature to schedule an quote. He showed up on time and after looking at the trees, he gave me a verbal quote to remove 1 tree and thin out 6 others. I asked when he could perform the work and he said his guys were in the area and could be out within the hour. I had him move forward. The guys came out, did the work, and cleaned everything up. Cory, the arborist, was great! He was very knowledgeable, even giving advice on things he noticed around our house. He also walked me through everything when they were still cleaning up so I didn't have to get caught in the impending rain. Overall A+!"

"I recently had the pleasure of working with Arborite treecare and I couldn’t be more impressed. Their customer service is truly excellent they were responsive, professional, and took the time to answer all of my questions. Their time management was outstanding they showed up when they said they would and completed the job efficiently without cutting corners. On top of that, their pricing was very cost efficient for the quality of work provided. What really stood out was how well they cleaned up after the job was done the area looked better than it did before they started. If you’re looking for a reliable, professional tree service that delivers great value and takes pride in their work, I highly recommend them."

"When I called for a quote, he came within a day. Being very busy, I was told it might even be 6 weeks. They called me last night and said they could do it this morning at 8. So that was only a week. They were prompt, courteous, knowledgeable and fast. The arborist also told me that the tree did not need cabling which saved me some money! We also discussed what I will do in the future. They cleaned up the yard upon completion. I will use them again!"

"Abraham came quickly to provide an estimate and performed the work around our schedule. He and Brett showed up on time and removed one tree as well as trimmed three others. The guys worked great as a team! Clean up was efficient and complete, the price for service was fair. We will definitely work with this company in the future."

"Outstanding experience with these guys. Came out to the house to submit a bid for tree trimming on 3 large trees that were diseased and dropping limbs onto my shed with some getting close to the house. The price was exceptional compared to the other bids I received. He and his crew were out the next day. The impression he gave me made me talk to two of my neighbors about it and they ended up hiring him as well. The work quality was exactly what I expected and their clean up afterwards was spectacular. The two climbers were exceptional at personal safety and dropping huge limbs with impressive care and accuracy. One of the climbers was quite a character and cracked me up with his communications to the ground crew. The work they did for my neighbors was equally good. I highly recommend them."

Customers say: Super punctual

"Cody and crew removed one large maple from a tight spot in my back yard as well as an overgrown magnolia tree from up against the front of my house. They also removed a row of hedge from around my pool. They showed up as promised and promptly to start the job. They were highly skilled and worked diligently to get the entire job completed on time. Clean up was also very acceptable. They were courteous and professional. I would absolutely hire Ramsey and Family Tree Service for anything related to tree removal or trimming."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

If you’re planning on keeping the tree, unless the roots are invasive, there’s no need to remove them, as doing so can cause damage to the tree. If the tree has been cut down and the stump and roots are left, grinding and removing the stump can cause root decay for some species. For other species, the stump and roots will need to be removed to prevent pests, disease, and possible tree regrowth.

Some trees will bounce back just fine, and others will struggle and possibly die. Evergreens, for instance, have a very difficult time recovering after droughts and usually die after periods of extreme dryness. Usually, you’ll have to just wait and see—if the drought occurs in wintertime, it’s possible that your tree will recover during the gentler springtime.

Hiring an arborist or tree surgeon is usually more expensive than a standard tree company, but it is often worth the investment. Arborists have education and certifications that standard companies typically lack, leading to a more professional, expert-level service. Their expertise is particularly valuable for diseased or infested trees, as they can ensure safer removal and help prevent the issue from spreading. Additionally, arborists may be necessary for work near power lines, as uncertified companies are often not permitted to service these trees. If your goal is to preserve the health of your trees, an arborist is the best choice. Their services, such as stump grinding, are also performed with greater expertise to ensure a safe depth that won't cause your lawn to collapse over time.

Peach trees don’t tend to live as long as other types of trees and crops. They tend to last only about 12 years, and you shouldn’t expect to see a full peach harvest each of those years, either. Young peach trees need a few years to get established before they produce fruit, but you should have plenty of peaches for your pies and cobblers during their mature years, around years four through eight.

It is possible to cut down a tree on your property yourself, but it is generally not recommended unless specific conditions are met. You should only consider this project if the tree is small (e.g., under 4-5 inches in diameter and short enough that you don't need a ladder to reach the branches), and you are experienced in handling a chainsaw. The tree must also be located far from any power lines, fences, homes, or other structures. Even for small trees, the work can be dangerous, and it's always advisable to have a spotter to ensure the tree falls correctly and no branches fall on you.

For any tree that is large, requires a ladder to access, or is near electrical lines or structures, you should always hire a professional. Attempting to remove a large tree yourself is extremely dangerous, poses a risk of serious injury, and could result in significant damage to your property.

Before any tree removal, it's also important to check your local and state regulations to ensure the tree is not historic or otherwise protected by your city.
