"Very good service at a fair price. Service Manager Nick gave no pressure options for my situation. I elected for a new install which was performed within two days. Nick was very knowledgeable and responsive to my questions and concerns. Joe and Kaleb did an amazingly good job integrating the new furnace. Thrown together old systems now look like one streamlined unit. It doesn't just "work," it was put in with some craftmanship (HVAC art). Will definitely continue to use this company."

"Hoover air was very knowledgeable and professional when I asked about a new hot water heater and what type would be best for me. Tyler came out and was very efficient at replacing my hot water heater and discussed with me ways to maintain it so that it would last for years to come. I also had a couple rooms in our house that was not getting enough airflow. Hoover air was able to fix this and now those two rooms are very comfortable. I would highly recommend Hoover air for all of your HVAC needs."

"For both it was about $10000. It was a high efficient air conditioning system in. They were fine. I didn't have any problem with Blair. They do a good job. They're very responsive. Anytime I've needed any service they've been out here and the price is reasonable. They are here when they say they are going to be."

"I like everything about them. They are personable, the gentlemen who owns the company, Bob, is very polite and careful with anything around the windows they are washing. Anything they have to move to do their job, they make sure to put back. They take great care to clean up after themselves, and respect me and my property. To top everything off, the work they do is always great!

The rates they offer are very friendly and competitive."

Heating and Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

Water buildup in your HVAC system is a cause for alarm. If water accumulates in your ductwork, it can drastically lower your home's air quality and create safety hazards. These risks include mold growth, damage to your HVAC system, and attracting pests that are seeking water into your ducts. Proper insulation and sealing of ducts can prevent this, and regular inspection and maintenance can address water damage problems before they become too severe.

A blocked return air vent can cause your HVAC system to work much harder and, therefore, less efficiently. The result is higher utility bills and poorer air quality. A blocked return air vent can also cause unpleasant dust, dander, and odors to linger in your home’s air.

No. Your furnace does not run your air conditioner. Both units use the same system of ductwork to move conditioned air throughout your home, but you can have a furnace without having an air conditioner and vice versa. Furnaces are only for heating your home. You can buy a system that does both, however, like a split system or a heat pump (yes, heat pumps cool, too).

AC evaporator coils should be cleaned at least once per year to keep your unit in good condition. For optimal performance, consider cleaning them twice a year—once before and once after the main cooling season. More frequent cleanings may be necessary for older systems, units with performance issues, or those in climates with high levels of humidity, dust, and dirt.

During the summer, it’s best to set your AC to 78 degrees when you’re home and awake, according to the Department of Energy (DOE). For better energy efficiency, raise the temperature slightly to 85 degrees while you’re out of the house. The National Sleep Foundation advises lowering your thermostat to between 60 and 67 degrees when you’re asleep.
