"Hauserâ s sales manager and the field tech were both Very polite, knowledgeable and clearly communicated in as much technical detail as I wanted the repairs they recommended and why. Our previous HVAC service provider had diagnosed loss of AC cooling as a compressor failure and had quoted compressor replacement at over $3500 or even recommended replacing the matched AC & Evap Coil unit costing $5-$7K depending on the efficiency chosen. I approached Hauser for a second opinion diagnosis for loss of AC cooling and they diagnosed it as a deteriorating but not failed compressor and had it running in half an hour with a new replacement run capacitor and an add-on electrical gizmo â compressor saverâ at total cost of under $400."

"I like everything about them. They are personable, the gentlemen who owns the company, Bob, is very polite and careful with anything around the windows they are washing. Anything they have to move to do their job, they make sure to put back. They take great care to clean up after themselves, and respect me and my property. To top everything off, the work they do is always great!

The rates they offer are very friendly and competitive."

Heating and Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

While an air conditioner can temporarily run with a dirty filter, it is not recommended as it will not work efficiently. A dirty filter forces the system to work harder to circulate cool air, leading to reduced airflow, increased wear and tear, and higher energy bills. This added strain can cause the air conditioner to overheat or fail prematurely. Furthermore, a clogged filter may allow dust and dirt to accumulate in your ductwork, negatively impacting air quality. It is more cost-effective to clean or replace filters regularly than to pay higher utility bills and risk needing to replace the entire AC unit.

Swamp coolers cost approximately 50 percent less to install than central air conditioners and cost less to run. Operation costs depend on the size of the unit and home, your climate, utility rates in your area, and the system’s efficiency. Swamp coolers use 15 to 35 percent less power than air conditioners.

Yes, you can clean AC coils yourself. Just make sure that the power to your AC system is off before you begin. You’ll need some basic tools and supplies, including a soft brush, cloth, screwdriver, and a commercial or homemade cleaning solution. Cleaning your coils will only cost about $10.

Yesh, heat pumps can easily cool homes when the weather reaches over 100 degrees Fahrenheit, just as powerful air conditioners can. The key is sizing the heat pump correctly for the size of your home and your climate. A local heat  pump professional can help you determine the right size and type for your home.

Replacing an HVAC system does not always include new ductwork. The decision depends on the condition of your existing ducts. If they are in good shape, correctly sized for the new unit, and meet current standards, they can often be reused. However, if the ducts are damaged, poorly designed, or improperly sized, they will likely need to be replaced or upgraded to ensure the new system operates efficiently. An HVAC contractor will assess your ductwork and recommend the best course of action. Typically, ductwork is purchased separately, and a full replacement will add to the overall project cost.
