"They did a great job on the waterproofing of my basement. They were on time and ended up finishing a little early. They did a great job explaining what was being done and answering our questions. Worked with me on the best placement of my drain so that it could be easily concealed. They took the time to put down drop cloths. We are so pleased with our waterproofing. The damp musky smell is gone and so is the worry of water coming in when it rains. I would highly recommend Basement Worx waterproofing."
"Everdry was very responsive, thorough and honest through the process. Being a first time home owner I was at a loss with the whole process but they explained everything well. Also, the actual process of waterproofing my basement was quick and efficient, have not had a problem in the last two years...and we have had a lot of rain!!"
"Just got my basement waterproofed by stay dry waterproofing. They did an excellent job! Communicated well, were on time and went above and beyond my expectations. Already have had several storms roll through and itâ s nice to have the peace of mind knowing my basement wonâ t flood anymore. Would definitely work with them again and recommend to friends and family !"
"Overall, we had a great experience. The waterproofing job was great and works perfectly. The only downsides to our job were: 1) they were suppose to seal off the things in our basement so they didn't get dusty - the seal job wasn't good though so we are still cleaning everything off as we have time weeks later. 2) they were supposed to cosmetically fix some cracks, but it looks sloppy. They just took a caulk gun to it... In our consultation, they had mentioned they would do this pretty, smooth coating thing, which was not done. 3) they did not clean up well. Our floors had dirt all over them when they left and I had to sweep/mop myself. While the above things were annoying, the important parts of the job (the actual waterproofing) were great and look and work perfectly. So I would still give them an A."
"I had lined up another company to waterproof our basement but decided to get one more estimate before the commitment. Josh, from Basement Authority convinced me to choose them. Josh showed me videos and explained how the water guard system works. The crew that came out were very professional and courteous. Midway through the job the guys showed me what was being done and asked if I had any questions. I would definitely recommend Basement Authority to anyone having water issues!!!"
"ErieHome waterproofed my basement. The crew was polite, kind, and came in, did an excellent job in 3 days by digging a trench on the inside of the basement, removing the dirt from the bottom of the foundation, installed corrugated tubing, rock and then cement. They also installed a Humidex airpurifier and new sump pump with a backup pump. They cleaned up afterward. Any questions I had were answered in a respectful manor. I now have peace of mind knowing that I no longer have to monitor weather forecasts for rain or have to clean up anymore incoming water. The system is warranted for the life of the house and included within the price, which increased the value of my home."

"I did not hire them but may do so if am unable to get Cincinnati Basement Waterproofing to perform warranty work. Rep was very professional, gave good recommendations and pricing."
"This is the 2nd time we've used Plumb Tite. Dustin H took care of us both times. We had a water line break leading to the exterior spigot. Dustin was able to repair while minimally effecting the finished basement as he needed to create access to the pipe. We will definitely use Plumb Tite again when necessary"
Basement Waterproofing questions, answered by experts
It depends on what caused your basement flooding, the extent of the problem, and the risk of the flood continuing. If your flood is coming from a septic system or sewer line, breathing in the sewer gasses can be dangerous, so you should vacate. If the flood occurs from an ongoing natural disaster, relocating to a safe area might be wise. If you just have a plumbing leak or rainwater coming in, you can likely stay in the house if you don’t have electrical lines down there, but make sure you call in professionals to fix the issue immediately.
Yes, cleaning a crawl space is worth the cost. Although it's an out-of-sight area, neglecting it can lead to significant problems like pest infestations (including termites and carpenter ants), mold, and fungal growth, which can cause structural damage. Regular cleaning helps prevent these issues. While hiring a contractor has ongoing costs, the price for cleaning—typically between $0.50 and $4 per square foot—is much lower than the cost to remediate a pest or mold problem. Additionally, a clean crawl space can lead to improved indoor air quality and more comfortable temperatures in your home.
Anything having to do with the structure of your home, such as raising the ceiling, is usually the most expensive part of finishing a basement. Another project component that could be a surprisingly high expense is adding an exterior entrance.
Water damage always poses a primary risk of mold and mildew, but growth is not guaranteed. Whether mold develops depends on several factors, including the severity of the water damage and how quickly the area is addressed. To prevent mold, you must act fast—ideally within the first 24 hours. The process involves cleaning up all standing water and thoroughly drying the affected area. If the damage is extensive, the cleanup was delayed, or you suspect mold might be present, it is safest to assume it has grown and contact a professional mold inspector or removal expert to assess the situation.
Encapsulation can take the place of crawl space vents since it protects the area from moisture and air all year round. Determining whether you should open or close crawl space vents can be complicated since it often depends on the weather and humidity. Skip this step by investing in crawl space encapsulation whenever possible.
