"Extreme Heating and Air Conditioning installed an 18 SEER HVAC system with zone control for me. I am very pleased with the results and performance of the system - far better than the previous system WRT air flow balance. All personnel were very knowledgeable and professional and I highly recommend this company. Thanks to Tristan, Brett, Ryan, Joe, Paul and special thanks to Dave and Tyler for working through some parts failures. I am very pleased."

"Lot of other HVAC company straight up denied my project. But, Turner was completely different. From the customer service to the field service, they were excellent. There was no lack of explanation on each steps taken. Plus, their charge was very reasonable compared to other HVAC pros. I highly recommended to hire them for any HVAC projects."

Heating and Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

While it is possible to add Freon to your AC unit yourself, it is not recommended. In fact, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) prohibits the handling of Freon without a license. Freon is a dangerous gas that can cause irreversible damage to your AC or yourself if not installed correctly. It is worthwhile to hire a professional to add Freon to your AC.

You can air condition your Arizona room by extending your home’s existing HVAC system or adding a ductless mini-split system. Arizona rooms that have full windows rather than screens only are a better choice for air conditioning—screens will let the cold air out as fast as the air conditioner can make it.

No, for two very important reasons. First, it’s illegal to release refrigerant into the air or ground since it can be toxic and cause environmental damage. Technicians typically pump old or extra refrigerant into separate tanks for special disposal. Second, without professional equipment to read refrigerant pressure and levels, plus the AC’s suggested requirements, it’s impossible to know if you’ve removed the right amount of refrigerant. Stay away from a DIY solution here and seek an expert with the right tools.

Many factors affect how much adding air conditioning will cost you, from the size of your home to the size, type, brand, and installation specifics of the system itself. Chances are, a new central air conditioning system for a 2,000-square-foot house will cost somewhere between $3,900 and $7,900 to install, with an average around $6,000

The general rule of thumb for figuring out how much AC tonnage you need in your home is that for every 500 to 600 square feet of space you need to cool, you’ll need one ton of AC cooling power. So, a 1,000-square-foot home will need 2 tons of AC power.
