"We had a half dozen small electrical projects that had been put off for quite awhile. All Residential Electric came to our home and completed all of them in less time we expected. The price was extremely fair and the quality is top rate. Our house is very old, but they had no issues Oh, and our dogs liked them!"

"Mr.Electic and Ryan, as well as the electrician, were all amazing. My electric panel burned out at night. I called them at 10pm and they had a representative at my house the following morning. They're quote was within market rates with a bit of an expected mark-up for urgency. It was definitely reasonably priced, especially since i couldn't find anyone else able to do the job right away. Long story short, the electrician was at my house the very next day after the quote and did an AMAZING job installing a larger panel. They needed to cut the wall to make more space and did it in a way that is practically invisible from the outside. You really cannot go wrong with this provider."

"Here’s a draft for your review: We recently hired Assurance Factor Electrical while redoing our kitchen. We ran into several unexpected electrical issues that needed to be resolved before we could move forward, leaving us without a functional kitchen. Bill and his team stepped in quickly and addressed everything with incredible efficiency. Their communication was outstanding—Bill explained the work in clear terms and making us feel confident in their process. On top of being skilled professionals, they were friendly, courteous, on time, and genuinely cared about helping us get back on track. Thanks to their quick response and excellent service, our schedule isn’t too far off. If you need reliable and personable electricians, we highly recommend Assurance Factor Electrical!"

Electrical questions, answered by experts

Before beginning electrical work in Perry, review local permit requirements, as most projects beyond simple fixture replacements need approval. Submit detailed plans early and schedule inspections to fit your project timeline. Coordinate with utility providers if you’re upgrading service or digging outdoors. Plan around Perry’s weather—spring and fall are ideal for exterior work, while winter conditions can delay inspections and complicate outdoor electrical upgrades.

Helpful?

New homeowners in Perry should prioritize a professional inspection of the electrical panel and main service line. Install GFCI outlets in kitchens, bathrooms, and garages, and ensure smoke and carbon monoxide detectors are hardwired. Check the grounding system, especially in older homes. Weatherproof exterior outlets and consider dedicated circuits for sump pumps or dehumidifiers, as Perry’s climate and common home features often demand extra protection.

Helpful?

In Perry, unexpected costs can arise from bringing older wiring up to current code, such as replacing outdated panels or improving grounding systems. Moisture or asbestos discovered during work may require additional remediation. Permit fees and extra inspection visits can add up, especially if winter weather causes delays. Material shortages or supply chain issues in Perry can also extend project timelines, so plan for flexibility.

Helpful?

Warning signs in Perry homes include flickering lights during storms, persistent burning odors, or warm outlets. Frequent breaker trips, missing GFCI outlets in wet areas, or outdated panels—especially in older homes—suggest unsafe wiring. Look for rust or corrosion in basements, particularly near Lake Erie, and check for ungrounded outlets or evidence of DIY work that doesn’t meet current safety standards in OH.

Helpful?

In Perry, homes built from the 1950s to 1980s often feature split-level or ranch layouts, which can hide wiring behind finished basements or concrete block walls. Look for signs like moisture in lower levels, limited attic access, or outdated fuse boxes. Homes near Lake Erie may also have corrosion or older aluminum wiring, making upgrades more complex and requiring careful planning for safe, code-compliant work.
