"I had Lakewise Electric install a Tesla Wall Connector at my home and was very pleased with the experience. Communication was excellent, the work was professional, and the installation was completed neatly with attention to detail. The team took the time to explain the options and delivered a clean, high-quality result. I would definitely recommend Lakewise Electric to anyone looking for EV charger installation or other electrical work."

"First, it turned out that the shut off valves were not working and I was told that they would need to be replaced - and the water in the Condo would have to be turned off (affecting 36 units). The work was then scheduled for the next day so notice could be given. We thought two hours would be enough. Turned out that the supply water pipe was so bad (old) that a new shut off valve could not be threaded on the bad pipe - After trying everything it ended up that the ceiling in the unit below needed to be opened to replace a piece of the supply pipe. Water was off for more than 4 hours but after the headache from others about it, everything went fine. Toilets installed, bathrooms cleaned up, downstairs cleaned up. Mike Miller was great. Easy to work with - went to his truck more times than i can count to get tools and supplies but was able to complete the work having everything he needed even when unexpected problems presented themselves. My only complaint is the cost. The scheduling was easy, the communication great, a picture in information about the technician was sent in advance. Mike wore shoe coverings and a mask. WyattWorks was the first to reply to a general inquiry to Angies list for plumbing work and as able to come when I was available. That’s why they got the job despite the price being higher than expected and probably higher than competitors. But the work was good, the staff was capable, and I am satisfied."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

To streamline your electrical project in Ashtabula, contact the local building department early, as permits may require several days. Schedule work outside of peak lake-effect snow periods and confirm utility requirements before starting. Research reputable local contractors, book inspections in advance, and plan major upgrades in the fall. Budget for potential code updates, especially in the area’s many older homes.

Helpful?

Common mistakes in Ashtabula include skipping required permits, which can complicate insurance claims and home sales. Many homeowners also forget to use moisture-resistant materials for outdoor work, overload older circuits, or attempt complex upgrades without proper experience. Neglecting to update grounding systems, failing to prepare for winter outages, and using indoor-rated supplies outside are frequent issues in this region.

Helpful?

After finishing an electrical project in Ashtabula, arrange a final inspection to confirm compliance with local building codes. Notify your insurance provider if you’ve upgraded wiring or panels, as this can affect your policy. Store all permits and inspection reports in a safe place. For older homes, schedule annual electrical safety checks and test GFCI outlets regularly, especially in areas prone to Lake Erie humidity.

Helpful?

Combining electrical work with other home upgrades in Ashtabula can improve efficiency and help meet current codes, especially in older properties. Pairing electrical updates with HVAC improvements, insulation, or kitchen and bath remodels can streamline the permit process. Consider installing a generator during a panel upgrade to prepare for storm-related outages and take advantage of available energy efficiency rebates in Ohio.

Helpful?

In Ashtabula, it’s wise to keep a non-contact voltage tester, digital multimeter, insulated screwdrivers, and a reliable flashlight for routine electrical maintenance. Stock weatherproof electrical tape, outdoor-rated outlet covers, and dielectric grease to guard against moisture from Lake Erie. For winter, have heat tape and generator connection supplies ready, plus spare GFCI outlets, wire nuts, and extra circuit breakers for quick repairs.
