Small jobs welcome

"Odell the technician was prompt, courteous, knowledgeable, friendly, and efficient. I would welcome Streb back into my home anytime I need electrical work performed. Odell went through the house and did a cursor inspection while I explained the things I needed done. He gave honest input with regards to some simple items that I would be better served doing myself. He covered each item that he could do and their individual costs. Once we determined what he should do, he set off right away and was happy to carry on some light conversation while doing the repairs. It was a great experience and I will make sure to hire them again if I need electrical work done in the future."

"Jim can solve problems well. He started the job very soon after we settled on the details, and he got it done on time, and now my EV car is charging smoothly. I am pleased with the outcome! Problems that arose included having to move electrical boxes and redigging a trench, and yet he still got it done on time. His services are relatively expensive I’m guessing, but he’s knowledgeable about a variety of things that turn out to be really helpful when you run into problems (such as poorly done existing wiring). My electrical panel was a mess and he fixed it up nicely."

"Mr. Electric provided excellent service for me under difficult circumstances. A building contractor damaged a wire and buried it under 42” of concrete. Ryan Corley, Mr. Electric’s wire detection specialist, was able to locate the wire accurately. Electricians Jeff Shipkosky and Khefren Johnson spent two and a half very long days, in 93-degree heat, digging around the perimeter of my house. Both ends of the damaged wire were eventually located six feet underground, which is considerable deeper than code requires. Justin David, Mr. Electric’s manager, was here working alongside his men and provided all the support possible to them. He maintained full contact and communication with me throughout the entire process. These men, along with a crew of assistants, are a class act company. I was very impressed at the dedication of Mr. Electric and recommend them highly."

"Very professional company and honest, knowledgeable staff. I had received 3 quotes for my project, and their quote was the best, and I felt most comfortable with their staff. I did not have the project completed yet, although when I do, I'll be choosing Advanced Technologies and Electrical."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

Euclid’s lake-effect snow, high humidity, and frequent rain mean outdoor electrical work must use corrosion-resistant wiring and weatherproof boxes. Cold winters require cables and insulation rated for low temperatures to prevent brittleness. Heavy snow can stress overhead lines, while spring storms may cause water intrusion in exterior outlets. Planning installations with these local weather patterns in mind helps ensure your electrical upgrades remain safe and reliable year-round.

Helpful?

Upgrading electrical systems in Euclid can make your home more attractive to buyers, especially since many properties here have older wiring or panels. Local buyers often look for modern features like GFCI outlets, updated breaker panels, and smart home wiring. These improvements not only boost safety and energy efficiency but also help homes stand out in Euclid’s market, where buyers value move-in-ready, code-compliant properties.

Helpful?

In Euclid, habits like blocking basement electrical panels with storage bins can trap damp air, accelerating rust and corrosion—especially in older homes. Overloading outlets with space heaters during cold snaps strains outdated wiring. Using outdoor outlets without proper weatherproof covers exposes connections to moisture, while ignoring flickering lights can mask underlying issues. Regularly checking for these risks helps protect your home’s electrical system and prevent avoidable repairs.

Helpful?

For electrical upkeep in Euclid, keep a non-contact voltage tester, multimeter, and wire strippers handy for safe troubleshooting. Stock weather-resistant GFCI outlets, AFCI breakers, and weatherproof covers for outdoor use. Dielectric grease helps protect exterior connections from moisture, and a dehumidifier can reduce basement dampness. Having these supplies on hand helps you address both routine maintenance and unexpected weather-related electrical issues common in the area.

Helpful?

In Euclid, basements often require attention due to moisture affecting electrical panels and outlets, especially in older homes. Kitchens and bathrooms may need additional GFCI outlets or dedicated circuits to support modern appliances. Outdoor spaces like decks and walkways benefit from upgraded lighting and weatherproofing, given the city’s long winters. Panel upgrades and improved grounding systems are also common needs to meet current safety standards and handle increased electrical loads.
