  • The Trenchless Guys
I am highly impressed with this company. They are punctual, courteous and very aware of keeping their work area clean. They are a very hard working team. Every step of the process was explained to me in advance. Drop clothes were used through out my home in all areas where they travelled. They were as quiet and i had minimal disruption of my activities. I trust them and would highly recommend them for any plumbing needs

  • Ohio Basement Systems
Went great. Very professional from the first phone call to the end. It was scheduled 2 months in advance, the workers showed up on the day they were scheduled and finished on time. It took 2 1/2 days. The crew cleaned up and aside from some dust in the basement and some new concrete you would have never know they were there

  • Mackin & Sons Plumbing
Kristian and Mason did a great job on what was a big project; very efficient and professional. They realized that they were going to have to make some changes to the plan because of conditions that only became clear once they got into the project (which we knew ahead of time was a possibility). Kristian kept us fully informed and gave us different options as to how they might proceed, including some cost-saving options. At every step we felt fully confident that they knew what they were doing, and their workmanship was excellent. We were very worried that the job was going to have to involve tearing up the floor and/or wall of the finished den in our basement, but they figured out a way to do it so as to confine the worksite to the unfinished part. They got a tremendous amount of work done in a very short time, actually finishing a day earlier than they had thought they might, and were careful to clean up what was necessarily a very messy worksite. We had previously worked with Mike Mackin and his crew on smaller projects at our old house over a period of many years (10-12), and we had always found their work to be very solid, professional, and high quality. In addition, Mike is very approachable and willing to go the extra mile to make sure his customers/clients are satisfied. We consider ourselves very fortunate to have connected with Mackin and Sons all those years ago

  • Mackin & Sons Plumbing
Mike and his staff member, Kristian, were right on it. This problem coincidentally arose immediately after they had just completed a major project for us (replacing our entire sewer line system). This new problem clearly had nothing to do with that. Mike and Kristian immediately diagnosed the problem (leaky pipe draining condensation from our A/C) and fixed it in very short order. After about 15 years of having Mackin and Sons do all our plumbing work, from small projects to huge ones, we couldn't be more pleased with their responsiveness, their expertise, and the quality of their work. I also have to add that they were incredibly understanding and compassionate with regard to all the stress we were going through because of the multiple unrelated plumbing problems that we encountered in our new house, and they really helped us get through a difficult time. You couldn't do better than Mackin and Sons

  • Mackin & Sons Plumbing
Mike Mackin did a great & reasonably priced job on replacing the faucets & shower head in my upstairs bathroom. He recommended which brand of faucet / shower head set to buy when I scheduled the job with him. Because the old faucet had been dripping for so long, replacing it was a bit more of a job then we had expected. He had to cut a hole in the wall in order to get access to the pipes to which he needed to connect it. To cover the neatly cut hole, he got a cover that is white & attractive looking, easily opened for future access & only cost $15. The faucet / shower head kit I had purchased was also missing a screw. Mike called the manufacturer while doing the job & arranged for them to send me a new screw that I easily placed a few days later. I would recommend Mike Mackin to anyone

  • Narrow Path Plumbing
The work was very well done and they coordinated with the inspector to plan and check the work. I would use them again in a heartbeat.

  • Tignor's Hometown Hardware & Plumbing Service
The project, which got a lot more complicated once the carpet was pulled up, was completed in a little less than four hours. The extra time increased the price, but it was well within reason given the amount of work required. Jim Retzler did a nice job.

Plumbing FAQ

  1. How much does a plumber cost?

Answer: The cost of a plumber ranges from $175 to $480, with a national average of $330. However, the price will vary depending on job complexity, timing, location, supplies and materials, permits, and level of expertise. These costs typically include toilet repairs, faucet installations, and leaky pipes. In addition to the service call, you may also need to budget for haul-away and trip fees often required during more complicated jobs. Ask your local plumbing contractor about these fees before hiring them.

  2. How much does a plumber charge to replace a toilet?

Answer: On average, you can expect to pay your local plumbing contractor between $125 and $230 to replace an old toilet, with most residential homeowners paying around $150 to $180 for professional installation. You’ll need to consider materials and labor when calculating a final price. Not all toilets are equal. Depending on the brand you choose and the features you want, a new toilet might run you anywhere from $100 to $1,300. Add in the price of labor and installation, and your total project can jump up to $200 and $1,500.

  3. How much does a plumber cost to fix a toilet?

Answer: According to our service providers, it costs roughly $75 to $200 on average to have your toilet repaired. However, this price will vary depending on the complexity of the job and the materials needed for the fix. Repairs can be messy and less-than-pleasant to address, but having a functioning toilet is most definitely necessary. If you’re experiencing problems with your toilet, contact a local, reputable plumbing contractor right away, as avoiding repairs can lead to bigger—and more expensive—issues over time.

  4. Is liquid plumber safe for septic systems?

Answer: Good news! Liquid-Plumr® is safe for septic systems. Most drain cleaners disrupt the pH in your septic tank, which prevents the good bacteria from breaking down septic waste. The chemical make-up in Liquid-Plumr® works with the bacteria to break down waste quickly without harming your septic system. Still, it’s best to confirm with your local plumbing provider if Liquid-Plumr® is the right solution for your system.

  5. How much is it for a plumber to unclog a toilet?

Answer: Even the most well-maintained toilets experience clogs. It’ll cost you an average of $200 to $700 to unclog your toilet. Severe clogs will require a more comprehensive repair method, so check with your local plumbing contractor to determine the best approach for unclogging your toilet.

  6. Is Liquid-Plumr®, or any other liquid drain cleaner, safe for septic systems?

Answer: Yes and no. Liquid-Plumr® and other drain cleaners are most effective when used sparingly (one to three times a year). Repeated use of liquid plumber on drains could deteriorate your pipes and cause more damage. If your pipes clog frequently, put down the liquid plumber and call your local plumbing contractor immediately.
