"This is the 4th project we’ve used Exotic Tile for. They are professional, communicate well, show up and complete jobs on time. They’ve done two fireplaces, a bathroom floor and now a backsplash for us. All look perfect. We won’t go anywhere else for tile. I highly recommend at least having them get you an estimate if you’re looking to have tile work done!"

"Mr. Doug of Perrell Flooring Installation performed the work. What I valued most is the fact I was able to get an estimate with in a day of calling, he showed up on time to start work and was able to start right away and complete the job in 2 days. When an unforeseen issue came up with one of the cut off valves he was able to handle."

We pride ourselves on our clear and concise communication. We want to ensure we provide you a quick, quality service on time and on budget.\n\nWe joined this business because we were tired of calling ten contractors to only get two to come out and bid. Then having to wait another 2-3 weeks to even get the bid before even scheduling service. Waiting around for weeks then just to have the project delayed and go way over the estimates didn’t feel right.\n\nWe are provide our clients the pricing quickly and transparently either on our website or right on a 15min consultation video call. We do everything to plan for issues that could arise on a job before they happen and, we inform our customers before the job begins if any changes would be expected.\n\nOur technicians have years of experience in the industry and pride themselves on quality and attention to detail. If you’d like professional service, easy communication & quoting, and a finished product you can be proud of, call us now!

Backsplash Installation questions, answered by experts

Travertine is a natural stone, while porcelain is ceramic. You can enjoy the best of both worlds with porcelain travertine tiles. Some people prefer porcelain to travertine because it doesn’t require regular maintenance and it’s easier to clean. Porcelain travertine looks like the real thing but only costs $3 to $6 per square foot.

The number of boxes of tile you need depends entirely on the amount of tile in each box or case. Different manufacturers package their tiles differently, and boxes contain different amounts of tile depending on the size, shape, and material. Often, the amount of area that a case will cover is listed in the product description. To calculate the number of boxes you need, take the total square feet of the space and divide it by the number of square feet the box will cover.

Grout lines should typically be between 1/8 to 3/16 inch thick. This ensures enough room for the grout to dry properly and makes them wide enough to look clean and professional. If grout lines are too small, it can be easier to see imperfections in the spacing.

Tiles last for around 100 years or more. Tiles on backsplashes can last even longer since they’re less likely to crack under foot traffic or from accidental drops, but even tile in high-traffic flooring can last a century or more with proper installation and upkeep. Porcelain tiles are denser and stronger than standard ceramic tiles, so they’ll last longer, often pushing past the 100-year mark.

Tile floor installation usually takes about 16 hours of active work along with a couple of days of drying time between tile and grout applications.

The amount of time it takes your installer will depend on many factors, including the square footage of the space, the tile material type, and if they need to make intricate tile cuts.
