"Nate and Joe did an incredible job. Both are extremely quick and meticulous and in their work. It took less than 1 day to cut and install and 2nd day to grout. By noon of the second day, my project was complete. All the cuts were perfect and their attention to detail was amazing. They took great care to protect our floors and countertops during the job and cleaned-up at the end. My wife and I cant stop staring at our beautiful new backsplash. We plan to use Exotic for our Master Bathroom project next. Wholeheartedly recommend Nate and Joe for any tile project anyone is considering."

On every level, i.e product quality, price, extremely skilled installation, speed of service, accessibility and friendliness, we could not have done better. Dave and Ali are an absolute pleasure to work with. We are thrilled with the results of their efforts and expertise. In thirty years of living in our home, and having frequent remodeling projects done through the years, none have come close to the satisfaction and pleasure we have derived from this one. Thank you Dave and Ali for making this wonderful experience possible. Naturally, we would recommend FCI to anyone looking for a great product, price and dependable service. "Mr. Doug of Perrell Flooring Installation performed the work. What I valued most is the fact I was able to get an estimate with in a day of calling, he showed up on time to start work and was able to start right away and complete the job in 2 days. We pride ourselves on our clear and concise communication. We want to ensure we provide you a quick, quality service on time and on budget.\n\nWe joined this business because we were tired of calling ten contractors to only get two to come out and bid. Then having to wait another 2-3 weeks to even get the bid before even scheduling service. Waiting around for weeks then just to have the project delayed and go way over the estimates didn’t feel right.\n\nWe are provide our clients the pricing quickly and transparently either on our website or right on a 15min consultation video call. We do everything to plan for issues that could arise on a job before they happen and, we inform our customers before the job begins if any changes would be expected.\n\nOur technicians have years of experience in the industry and pride themselves on quality and attention to detail. If you’d like professional service, easy communication & quoting, and a finished product you can be proud of, call us now!

Backsplash Installation questions, answered by experts

When working on your bathroom floor tiling, you should always tile the floor first and then refit the toilet afterward. This has both practical and visual advantages—the tile will have a better seal, and the installation will look cleaner.

On the other hand, when you try to cut the tiles to fit around the toilet, you’re putting yourself at a disadvantage. It’s a lot more work, it’s hard to be precise, and mistakes or miscalculations can lead to future moisture damage to the tiling, grout, and subfloor.

Yes, even if you’re being careful, removing tile can damage your drywall to some degree. However, you can minimize the damage done to it by eliminating a majority of the grout and taking your time prying each tile off. Also, it's worth noting that you might have more drywall damages to deal with if your tile is set into the mortar.

Here’s another instance of where the answer is you could, but that doesn’t mean you should. Yes, part of the issue is getting the drywall to stay in place on the tiles, and it’s understandable that screws will crack the tiles and cause them to crumble. That’s why it’s a much better idea to screw drywall into studs, not your porcelain or ceramic tile. But aside from issues with attaching the drywall, it’s also about ensuring a smooth application without trapping moisture inside.

Tile countertops can last up to 100 years when properly maintained. Ceramic and porcelain tiles are the most durable types and can last as long as natural stone countertops like granite, marble, and quartz. Tile countertops are much cheaper than natural stone countertops, making them an excellent option for a homeowner with a limited budget.

Add a T-shaped spacer to each corner of a tile when placing it. You’ll want to nudge the tiles closer together so the spacers are touching each corner. When you’re done installing your tile, you can remove each spacer, wash them, and use them for your next project.
