The crew leader reassured us the weather would be fine and the job would be done by the end of the day. He was right! The sun came out and they finished up by 7:00 pm. "I just want to offer an update to my initial review.  It's been a little over a year since my roof has been replaced.  We've had at least six major thunder storms come through the area (two of which resulted in tornadoes within 3 miles of our home) and been through a brutal winter with sub zero temps and major snow fall.  The roof is still intact, all shingles in place and no leaks!  Leaking had been a huge problem in the past in the garage when we had driving rain with the old roof & ridge vent installed by the builder .  The architectural shingles Ed installed still look great and their heavier weight and design have kept them from flipping during heavy winds and storms.  Overall, I just want to say again what a professional job Ed Popil and his crew did on this job.  I would gladly use them again and refer them to anyone considering a roof replacement or repair.

"Had a skylight leaking and of course it was during a week long rain, but the second Penn Ohio could make it out, they did. The skylight is not leaving anymore and they were very honest about what needed done and was very reasonable. Would recommend to anyone."

"I called Great Lakes Home Improvement for snow removal from my roof. They were very polite and helpful from start to finish. The guys showed up and were very professional. I would recommend them to anyone"

"My sunporch flat roof has apparently leaked for years, although we only became aware of it two years ago when it started to actually come into the room. We had the porch re-roofed and that did not fix it, and that company came back out twice then quit returning my calls.  We had no more money that year to spend on it, so we tried again last year. The company we used last year noticed some structural issues with the sunporch and suggested the leak was due to an improperly installed railing.  They said they could fix the structural issue and seal/caulk the railings.  Their price was so good that we also inquired about replacing the windows and doors so that the room would be not only leak-free but pleasant to use.  They did a mostly nice job with the windows and doors, but the sealing did nothing.  it still leaked. They told us they'd have to tear off siding and really replace the entire roof to really fix it.  Once again, we had spent our money for home repairs and had to wait another year.  We were not happy with this company since the reason we had called them out was the roof leak and they had focused on everything but that.

This year, I joined Angie's List and found Jaime's Home Improvement highly rated. I had Jamie and two other companies come out and they all told me the same story - tear off some siding and redo a lot of the roof.  Jamie took the most time explaining exactly what the issue was and exactly how he would fix it.  He also gave me an option the other two did not - get rid of the flat roof, put a pitch on it, and get rid of the door out to the flat roof and replace it with a window. Jamie's price was good and the time he took with us was even better, so we went with him and decided to keep the flat roof. Jamie tore off the old roof, tore off the old railing, tore off the siding that had to go, fixed the roof and re-roofed it, built me a new railing (which is MUCH nicer than the old one ever was) and did such a good job of matching my old aluminum siding that people can't tell even when I point it out. My only issue was with Mother Nature.  it rained so much in April that it took awhile for the repairs to be done.  This was completely out of Jamie's control, and he did a god job of keeping me updated on when he hoped to complete the work.

Four weeks and countless rainstorms later, my sunporch is bone dry. I already have a list of other projects I'm going to hire Jamie for when I can afford them."
