The floors were not cleaned correctly, they didn't dust the shelves in my office, and there were scratches on my countertops. I called him and he said he would come back out to my home to restore the floors and dust the shelves and complete the work. He comes back and he doesn't even take off his shoes and he argued with me on how clean it was. He was also saying he wanted to add additional charges for further assistance. He stomped out and said I was not his kind of customer and he also refused to give back my house key.
After reading the reply from this company, I wanted to update my review. They never let me know about leaving my key, we found it under the mat of the front door on accident from cleaning off the snow, so we have no idea how long it has been there. And they never refunded me any money, in fact, they charged me for the cleaning the same day they handed me the letter of terminating me as a client. I would like to see the verification of them refunding me the money to my credit card. I believe it was very unprofessional of them to respond to my review after 8 months of not hearing anything."},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/oh/newark/the-cleaning-authority-reviews-96265.htm"},"position":5},{"@type":"ListItem","item":{"@type":"LocalBusiness","name":"Sears Home Improvement","address":{"@type":"PostalAddress","addressRegion":"OH","addressCountry":"US"},"review":{"@type":"Review","author":{"@type":"Person","name":"Sandra D."},"reviewBody":"Since the installation we have had very high heat bills. When I tell them I have also since found that we definitely could have put in a gas furnace( upon checking with other furnace installers) that I originally purchased they just ignore the issue totally. They continue to tell me nothing is wrong with the new furnace and the Manager Buddy Eubanks will not return my calls when I want to take my case further. A $720.00 electric bill in a 1400 sq ft well insulated home is NOT normal at any time especially the winter of 2012 which went down on record as one of the the mildest winters. The bills continue to be high ($465.00, etc.) and we also had an issue of the heat pump freezing up at the end of the 2012 season, they looked at it and told me it was fine and that the defrost cycle would switch on and take care of it, March 2011 turned warm, the heat pump defrosted and that was the end of it until Dec. 2013, the heat pump was out of warranty for labor and I had to have Sears return as it froze again with the first cold weather and it needed 2 parts which were covered but we had paid $259.00 in labor for something that should have been taken care of in Mar. 2011. Per Steve Borod, Manager in Home Improvement Dept., we could not prove that the part needed replaced in 2011. Next problem was the furnace was unable to keep up with the temp set on the thermostat. Set at 69 degrees and on cold nights/mornings the furnace was at 64 degrees and took all morning to get up to temp.
There are other issues as well that they will not address. The installer, Smith Heating and Cooling, was very nice, professional and responsive on installation and with the high heat bills issue to come look at the furnace in the beginning but when it came to problems or solutions they continually said nothing was wrong. You would have thought that everyone had $720.00 heat bills.
My husband and I have dealt with Sears for many years (in our 70's now) and put our trust in the Sears name on this very expensive project and have been totally let down. Will never deal with Sears again as it apparent they do NOT stand behind their subcontractors and no one wants to take responsibility for any issues what so ever.

The vibration was causing the flue pipe which goes from the basement, up through two floors and through the roof to vibrate and periodically rattle inside my walls. Ben told me over the phone that it had to be the blower wheel and he even \"GUARANTEED\" it. He scheduled his repairman (Tom) to come and replace it. The part was still under warranty on my 3 yr. old furnace but because they had just recently worked on my furnace Ben did not charge me for a service call, nor did he charge me the warranty handling fee. "Buyers Beware – Total Waste of Money We purchased the premium home warranty package through Home Warranty Inc (homewarrantyinc.com) when we bought our home in October 2024, including the add-on for sprinkler system coverage. As anyone familiar with North Dakota knows, sprinkler systems must be winterized in September or October to prevent freeze damage. Ours was professionally blown out as soon as we moved in. Fast forward to spring—sprinkler systems in this region typically aren’t used again until late May, after the last freeze. We hired a professional sprinkler company to perform the spring startup and inspection. They found that multiple valves weren’t working properly. I filed a claim with the home warranty company immediately. Despite having the coverage, they denied the claim, saying it was a "pre-existing condition." That’s absolutely ridiculous, considering the system was winterized upon move-in and wasn’t even operational until months later. To make matters worse, this company has no partnered service providers in our town. You're expected to find your own technician, and good luck finding one who’s willing to work with them. Even if you do, you're likely stuck paying a significant amount out of pocket if anything needs to be replaced. This company is a complete scam. They take your money and leave you high and dry when it actually matters. I would never recommend them to anyone."

"It took a lot of phone tag to finally get the technician to our house, but once here he was efficient and professional and did an amazing job. The chip was in the edge of a white quartz countertop, very difficult to match perfectly, and the repair is absolutely invisible. Not the lowest bid, but worth the price."

Home Warranties questions, answered by experts
Most home warranties last for a year, and you pay either for the entire year up front or you agree to pay monthly. Some home warranty providers let you extend the contract term to two, three, four, or even five years, and in some cases, contract terms can go up to ten years.
Homeowners' insurance covers water heaters under certain circumstances. If your water heater is damaged due to a covered event, like a fire or burst pipe, your policy may pay for repairs or replacement. However, insurance won’t cover wear and tear, old age, or neglect. If a malfunctioning water heater causes water damage, your policy may help with cleanup and repairs, but not fixing or replacing the heater itself unless the damage resulted from a covered event.
Most home warranties exclude aesthetic damage, pre-existing issues, intentional damage, and issues that stem from a lack of proper maintenance. Home warranty companies also have contract terms that can exclude specific types of HVAC systems or certain components of an appliance or home system, so you should read your contract in its entirety to make sure you understand your coverage before signing up.
A home warranty usually covers electrical wiring work, depending on your specific plan. Most home warranty plans cover repairs for major appliances and home systems, including failure due to wear and tear. Home warranties aren’t as common as homeowners insurance, but they are more likely to cover old wiring.
The standard HVAC warranty is around five years. Still, many brands offer an extension to 10 years if you register the product within a specific timeframe, typically 60 to 90 days post-purchase or HVAC installation. Over the past decade, warranty periods have substantially increased, shifting from 3-5 years in the 90s to the now-prevalent 10+ year warranties. Both warranty types cover parts failing due to manufacturer defects, incurring no additional costs. Some manufacturers provide extended warranties surpassing the usual 15- to 20-year window, though these often involve extra fees.
