"Lance and his company was most professional and courteous before we even committed to an install. Once we scheduled an install, it was well executed and looked and worked great. Training was done by a superb trainer that our dog took to immediately. You can tell they care about their profession as well as the animal. A year later, damage was done by a third party. Lance himself showed up promptly on a holiday weekend to fix the fence and save our weekend. I can't recommend Lance's Hidden Fencing enough. A+ job."

"While the Binnacle Property quote was in line with expectations and the general construction of the deck appears to be solid, there are a number of significant concerns with this contractor that would prevent us from hiring them again not the least of which was the fact that they abandoned the project after receiving partial payment before the project completion. Concerns: Abandoned Project - There was a 14’ wide section of the deck that was supposed to have bench seating. As the cost of materials to cover this were included in the initial invoice of $5k, the contractor said in August that since he needed to pay his crew if we paid the $3.6k balance minus the $500 in labor to install seats and skirting that they would return in a week or two. After reaching out to them a month later they indicated that despite not providing the purchased materials or completing the work so the inspector could sign off that the project was no longer a priority. General Design - During the initial consultation we had explained numerous times that we wanted the level of the deck to be low enough as not to obstruct the exterior water spigot or bathroom vent. In addition to blocking these elements, we had made it explicitly clear that the height should be low enough that a back rest was not required on the bench seating. It was not until the frame was up, that they noticed that the level would block both elements and the height would now require the back rest. Rather than force the crew to tear down the work and incur additional project delays we agreed to adapt our original plans to accommodate their mistake. Project Delays - There would be periods of time during the project where it would be a week or more before Binnacle Property Management would come out to do any work on the deck. During this time materials were strewn throughout the yard and we had to purchase plywood planking to allow our dogs use of the back yard. Misc - Although it is less bothersome than other areas of the project, there are nonstandard elements such as the spindles being exposed outside of rails rather than being covered and functional aspects such as the fact that we cannot access the hose on the water spigot that we will need to hire another contractor to address."

"He was awesome.  He called back, but he was working in Reed field, North Carolina and he could not get to us for a couple of days.  By the time, he got to us we had already gotten the other estimates, and we were pleased with him.  Hampton guy was great.  He was really quick to get back to us, but he had other projects that he had already lined up.  The experience was very satisfactory.  He was very courteous, and prompt.  He was very honest in saying that he cannot get to us, and if we needed to have this work done now, then we need to have to get somebody else.  I appreciated that."

Fencing questions, answered by experts

In Mansfield, if you notice leaning fence posts, warped or missing pickets, rusted metal panels, or gates that no longer latch securely, it’s time to call a fence contractor. However, if you see water pooling near your fence, shifting soil, or property line confusion, address those underlying issues first to prevent future fence damage and ensure a lasting privacy fence installation.

Helpful?

Fencing in Mansfield needs regular care to withstand the local climate. Inspect for loose boards or rust after winter, and check for frost heave each spring. Clean vinyl or composite fences with mild soap, and reseal wood fences every few years to prevent moisture damage. Lubricate gate hardware and trim vegetation to keep your fence looking its best and functioning properly throughout the seasons.

Helpful?

Combining fencing with upgrades like new landscaping, patio builds, or outdoor lighting in Mansfield can minimize disruption and help coordinate a cohesive property design. For example, installing a privacy fence alongside a new garden bed or walkway prevents rework and protects fresh plantings. Bundling projects also streamlines contractor scheduling and can reduce the need for repeated heavy equipment access.

Helpful?

To streamline your fencing project in Mansfield, confirm your property boundaries with a survey and have underground utilities marked before digging. Consider the region’s clay soil and frost depth when choosing posts and installation methods. Select fencing materials that withstand OH’s freeze-thaw cycles and plan your project for late spring or early fall to avoid weather delays and ensure optimal results.

Helpful?

Adding a fence in Mansfield enhances comfort by creating private outdoor spaces and reducing street noise, especially in neighborhoods near busy roads. Fencing also shields your yard from strong winter winds, helps manage drifting snow, and keeps pets and children safe. A well-chosen privacy fence can boost curb appeal and property value, making your home more inviting year-round.
