"Lance and his company was most professional and courteous before we even committed to an install. Once we scheduled an install, it was well executed and looked and worked great. Training was done by a superb trainer that our dog took to immediately. You can tell they care about their profession as well as the animal. A year later, damage was done by a third party. Lance himself showed up promptly on a holiday weekend to fix the fence and save our weekend. I can't recommend Lance's Hidden Fencing enough. A+ job."

"While the Binnacle Property quote was in line with expectations and the general construction of the deck appears to be solid, there are a number of significant concerns with this contractor that would prevent us from hiring them again not the least of which was the fact that they abandoned the project after receiving partial payment before the project completion. Concerns: Abandoned Project - There was a 14’ wide section of the deck that was supposed to have bench seating. As the cost of materials to cover this were included in the initial invoice of $5k, the contractor said in August that since he needed to pay his crew if we paid the $3.6k balance minus the $500 in labor to install seats and skirting that they would return in a week or two. After reaching out to them a month later they indicated that despite not providing the purchased materials or completing the work so the inspector could sign off that the project was no longer a priority. General Design - During the initial consultation we had explained numerous times that we wanted the level of the deck to be low enough as not to obstruct the exterior water spigot or bathroom vent. In addition to blocking these elements, we had made it explicitly clear that the height should be low enough that a back rest was not required on the bench seating. It was not until the frame was up, that they noticed that the level would block both elements and the height would now require the back rest. Rather than force the crew to tear down the work and incur additional project delays we agreed to adapt our original plans to accommodate their mistake. Project Delays - There would be periods of time during the project where it would be a week or more before Binnacle Property Management would come out to do any work on the deck. During this time materials were strewn throughout the yard and we had to purchase plywood planking to allow our dogs use of the back yard. Misc - Although it is less bothersome than other areas of the project, there are nonstandard elements such as the spindles being exposed outside of rails rather than being covered and functional aspects such as the fact that we cannot access the hose on the water spigot that we will need to hire another contractor to address."

"He was awesome.  He called back, but he was working in Reed field, North Carolina and he could not get to us for a couple of days.  By the time, he got to us we had already gotten the other estimates, and we were pleased with him.  Hampton guy was great.  He was really quick to get back to us, but he had other projects that he had already lined up.  The experience was very satisfactory.  He was very courteous, and prompt.  He was very honest in saying that he cannot get to us, and if we needed to have this work done now, then we need to have to get somebody else.  I appreciated that."

Fencing questions, answered by experts

In Bucyrus, fencing professionals start by reviewing property lines using property surveys or plat maps and may consult a local surveyor if boundaries are unclear. They carefully search for existing boundary markers and double-check measurements to avoid encroaching on neighbors’ land. Before fence installation, contractors also assess setback requirements, utility easements, and site conditions like slopes or landscaping to ensure the fence is positioned correctly.

Helpful?

In Bucyrus, common habits that reduce fence longevity include piling snow or leaves against the fence, using lawn equipment too close to posts, and letting vines or shrubs grow unchecked along panels. Sprinklers hitting the fence, harsh cleaning methods, or storing heavy items against fencing can also cause damage. Regularly clearing debris and trimming vegetation helps maintain both wood and metal fences in Ohio’s climate.

Helpful?

In Bucyrus, it’s time to consider fence repair or installation if you notice leaning posts, broken pickets, rust, or wood rot—especially after winter. Sagging gates, gaps, or faded finishes are also warning signs. Schedule projects from late spring through early fall for best results. If you’re making frequent repairs or want more privacy, a new fence can enhance both security and property value.

Helpful?

In Bucyrus, fencing contractors consider both function and curb appeal by recommending materials that handle local weather, such as vinyl or treated wood, and suggesting fence styles that match neighborhood character. They plan layouts to avoid mature trees, maximize privacy fencing where needed, and ensure gates are accessible. Attention is given to drainage patterns and seasonal changes, helping fences look great and last through Ohio’s varied climate.

Helpful?

When hiring fencing pros in Bucyrus, look for contractors with proven experience in local fence installation and knowledge of city regulations. Ask for written project estimates, clear warranty details, and references from recent jobs in the area. Check that they’re insured and familiar with local soil conditions. Good communication, understanding of homeowners’ association rules, and a transparent project timeline are essential for a smooth fence repair or installation.
