"I WOULD GIVE NEGATIVE STARS IF POSSIBLE CONSUMERS BEWARE! Chose this company through our insurance to fix a water problem. From the beginning Dillon communicated (12/26) that he would be able to complete our repairs in 2/3 days max, by the end of the week he pressured us for the deductible to get us on the schedule. We promptly paid. Being that we had pipes exposed in the cold and wanting to avoid further damage we needed help as quick as possible. Fast forward to our scheduled day. I stay home from work. No one shows 2 hours into the apt Dillion says his contractor who is a SUBcontractor and does not even work for design is too busy to help us. This is against nationwides policy. After pestering them for two weeks they came out and did a poor job putting dry wall and insulation up, they went through 4/5 pieces bc they could not make it fit and made the project last 8 hours. The job isn’t complete and now they say they can’t mud in the cold. Houses get built in the winter, every contractor I’ve told including our adjuster has scoffed at how dumb this excuse is. Dillon has proceeded to ghost our every call since their botch repair dry wall job. This is completely a fraudulent experience from start to finish they promise time frames and do not show up and send 3rd party contractors against policy. They took my money and went completely MIA. Btw Dillon your read receipts are on. I can see when you’re ignoring us. I have formally filed a report with my insurance and they will also independently file a report for fraudulent practices. Very disappointed at how we were treated and given very low priority in a high stress situation. They will be refunding my deductible sans the crap dry wall and insulation that my four year old could have put up. Should also be noted our auditor and adjuster came out after hearing our complaints and notified Dillon who said he would meet at the job site. No surprise here he no called no showed. I am in shock at the way someone can avoid a paying customer that they at the very minimum owe honest and clear communication to. I am glad I went through insurance against his recommendations not to because I would have lost my money outright. This entire ordeal wasted 50 days of my life"

Bradford Electric and Remodeling is a licensed, insured and bonded company. We offer a 10% discount to all Veterans. Cash and Check are the way we accept payment. Labor and material will be itemized on quote and a down payment will be required for material before work will commence. Residential and light commercial electrical work. All mechanicals will be offered by licensed, bonded and insured contractors. If we cant do it we will sub the work to our list of sub-contractors.

"I picked Dan because of his qualifications and certifications. I figured he'd know exactly what the problems were and how to fix them, and he did. I also appreciated that he responded to my phone calls the same day, and when he came to my home for the scheduled appointments (this is the 2nd time in 6 months he's done work in my home), he was on time. He's fast and efficient (doesn't play around to jack up the price), very kind and considerate, and he gets the job done right. I can't say enough good things about him. I've already referred a friend, and she loves him, too."

DBA - Custom Remodeling & Design. Owner operated. Located in Chagrin Falls, Cerha Kitchen & Bath has been a trusted and important member of this and the surrounding community. Since establishing his company in 1997, owner Jim Cerha has been serving homeowners in northeast Ohio for almost two decades. At the Cerha Kitchen & Bath Design Studio we specialize in kitchen and bathroom renovations and much more.

"We recently contracted with Cerha Kitchen and Bath Design to refurbish our shower and tub area. We found Cerha staff to be professional and friendly from the beginning to the end of the project. When we first walked into the showroom at Cerha, we met two friendly, knowledgable and patient ladies, Christine and Jenny. These ladies looked at some photos we had brought in of our bathroom. Then they helped us select the type of tile and color combination that fit our bathroom. Their suggestions were very helpful and insightful. We were very impressed with them. Two very accomplished craftsmen, Robert and Antoine did the tear down work, the rebuilding and retiling work. These guys did an excellent job and were always on time. They even sent us a text message everyday about thirty minutes before they planned to arrive at our home. At the end of each day, they cleaned their work area and left the house spotless. Jim, the owner, communicated with us throughout the project. He let us know what to expect with each phase of the project and was prompt in answering our questions. We are very satisfied with our new shower and bath area. Cerha will definitely be our preferred vendor for our future projects."

Cabinet Making questions, answered by experts

Before making any big plans, climb up a step ladder and closely examine the top of your cabinets. You’ll get to see what sort of clean-up work needs to be done, but you can also check for any unexpected obstacles. Sometimes this space holds electrical boxes, wiring, or even plumbing components. Those will affect plans to install a new layer of cabinets or shelves.

While you may have heard people use millwork and carpentry interchangeably, they aren’t the same. Millwork is a type of carpentry, which means that carpentry isn’t always millwork. You can tell millwork apart from other types of carpentry because it’s manufactured at a mill. Notably, casework is also confused with millwork. Casework is different because it refers to boxes like cabinets and bookshelves.

Yes, sanding cabinets before you stain them helps the new stain better adhere to the surface. If you’re adding a darker stain to previously stained wood, you only have to sand them lightly enough to remove any finish and rough up the wood to improve adhesion. On the other hand, if you’re trying to stain wood that is a darker color or that has paint on it, you need to sand down to the original wood, or the color will show through the new stain.

The two main types of cabinets are face and faceless models. Faced cabinets have a front panel that gives structures additional strength but reduces the opening size, making them less accessible. Faceless cabinets look sleeker and are easier to get into, but they can be more challenging to install and may not be as sturdy.

If you’re looking for shelving that will stand up to years of heavy stacking, plywood is the clear winner against MDF (a.k.a. medium-density fiberboard). Plywood is a sturdy material that resists sagging, warping, and splitting, making it the perfect fit for shelving in a variety of spaces. For sheds, garages, and other environments that aren’t climate-controlled, wood or plywood is a must, as moisture and humidity will cause MDF to warp over time. While MDF is the more wallet-friendly material, it should only be used for storing lighter items in a climate-controlled space.
