Next the reality of the steepness and width of the hill in our back yard began to take hold. As I gazed out at the beauty of the yard through the fabulous panoramic view from our family room, the stars in my eyes diminished. I had to do the unthinkable and admit to my husband that he was right. The hill is pretty steep and wide. That simple solution to just flatten it out a little and put a cement pad on it for the patio look wasn't going to be enough. Cha Ching $$ again! We needed a deck to make this yard to really work for us.
Finally, the day came and it was time to move mom form her assisted living facility to her new home with us. As we brought her through the front entrance, we realized quickly that this entrance with only two stairs was not the best entrance for her to enter with a walker or wheelchair. Cha Ching Cha Ching $$$. Now we need a ramp to go with that deck in the back.
For two years, the Woodworker's Gallery saw us through it all. They were patient and kind through countless telephone calls, changes in ideas, changes in materials, changes in weather, unexpected emergencies, and most of all, teh red tape of approval process with our city's building and inspection department.
Every task that was asked of them was meticulous and complete. Their price I though in the beginning was steep. They were adamant about differences in the quality of materials. They took time and explained to us the difference between one material vs another to obtain the workmanship and final product we were asking for.
In the end, we learned you "pay for what you get". They helped us save by informing us when some of materials were on closeout due to the end of the season or discontinuation which really helped us prepare for our large expensive projects as well as the next project. We learned to pace ourselves, and we learned patience.
I hope the above information is helpful to Angie's List in concluding that The Woodworker's Gallery would be a valued vendor to offer to the many customers that depend on QUALITY WORKMANSHIP AT THE FAIR PRICE!
