"I was on the market for a security system and this one seemed easy enough to install.......went through the process and some of the window sensors were not working. I called Customer Support who was very friendly and we went through the entire process again...this time other window sensors did not work. This went on for a week or so...then the door senors stopped working....than the motion sensor stopped working...at no time in over a month did I have a fully operational security system. As I was about to return the system I was told they have "new" sensors and they just realized they received a bad batch and are working with another company.....Gave it a try....and same issue returned....some sensors worked....some didn't. I finally returned the system and stopped getting emails.....only to find that they were still billing my credit card even after I returned the equipment. Very nice people and very understanding.....unfortunately their product is not up to par. While we do have a large home, it's an open concept and the sensors that weren't working were no more than 15ft away from the base. The previous owners of my house had a wireless system with no issues at all.....I'm going to be using that company going forward."

"7/23/2024 We wanted to replace our bathroom window called a Mentor Window company. They sent out a salesman to measure and give us a quote. Well, he gave us a price of about $2,800 for one window. WOW what a JOKE that was. Told him NO and that our conversation was over. That was defiantly a rip off. So, moving forward we contacted Affordable Glass Block Bruce Knight the owner. He came out within one hour after I called him. Bruce gave use a price which was an affordable. So, we contracted with him. Set up an install date. Bruce and his helper arrived on time. They completed the entire project in about 2 hours. The install came out excellent. The vent he installed looks great. They did a great job on cleaning up and we paid exactly what he quoted. Thank you, Bruce, for an outstanding job. We would highly recommend Affordable Glass Block to anyone. We give him a 5-STAR rating."

On average, professionally applied residential window tinting can last anywhere from five to 25 years. The quality of the film material and installation help to determine if film will stay. In addition, gently cleaning windows with film can increase their longevity. Harsh and abrasive cleaners, alcohol-based and ammonia-based cleaners, and sharp scraping tools and scrubbers can all prematurely destroy the film's surface. Use a microfiber towel and gentle cleaning solutions to get rid of dirt and residue to prolong a tint's lifespan.

Applying window security film yourself is possible, but we don’t recommend it. This task is simple in theory, but getting the product to sit on your windows evenly and without bubbles underneath is challenging for DIYers who lack the necessary experience and tools. You might save money on labor by applying it yourself, but you might also end up with a film that doesn’t look appealing, prompting you to start over and spend the money on a professional installation anyway. Plus, most window film manufacturers will void your warranty if you install the product yourself.

Do not use Windex or any glass cleaner when applying window film. These products contain ammonia, which will damage the film. Instead, use the application solution provided with the installation kit. If there is no solution, make your own using 1 teaspoon of baby shampoo and a gallon of bottled water.

You can easily and cheaply use tin foil or cardboard to black out your windows. Save a pretty penny by cutting either material to the size of your windows and taping it to the window. This is one of the easiest and most budget-friendly blackout solutions, but it definitely isn’t the most aesthetically friendly.  

Home window tinting is usually worth the investment because it reduces the amount of solar heat that enters through your window glass, thereby reducing the cost of cooling your home in the warmer months. Over the lifespan of your tinted windows, your electric bill savings will likely total more than you spend on your window tinting. Additionally, tinting protects your floors and furniture from harmful UV rays from the sun, so the window tint can extend the life of those items, saving you money over time. Lastly, tinting adds to your home's privacy and can help increase security.
