Small jobs welcome

"My house is a family house in Ohio, designed and built in 1962 by my Dad. Mom and Dad are gone. I inherited the house in 2015. I grew up in the house, but I live in California, now. I was able to remotely set up the asbestos removal with EnviroGo. Everything went well with the asbestos removal. It was quick and clean. The cost was excellent."

"Would give 10 stars if that was an option! Excellent communication from Rick of what needed to be done and exactly what the crew would do, followed by Exceptional work taking care of mold issue in 100 year old home's basement. Multiple items were removed and the space was cleaned, sanitized and a new dehumifier installed in short order by the crew of Mark and Ed. Highly recommend Dutch's Mold Inspections!!"

"CTG was very responsive, organized and timely on every aspect of their service. As part of a home sale, the buyer asked for us to encapsulate existing asbestos discovered from a home inspection. We needed a quick and complete response trying to help close on the sale of the home. The report (including pictures was received a couple of days after the services were performed. Their pricing was very good especially for the service and quick response. If you need this done...just hire them and get this off your plate."

"Awesomeness - Dilante Moore and his friendly crew arrived on time and immediately started the abatement process steps to remove several square feet of 9x9 asbestos gray color tiles in the basement of my daughters recently purchased home that was built in the year 1946 (The tiles were hidden under carpet and was not disclosed before the house was purchased). The job entailed complete removal of all asbestos tiles and black mastic adhesive. Five hours elapsed and 'No more tiles' :) All concrete surface revealed and the air quality check by the lab came back negative - all Clear. Afterwards, Dilante and his crew cleaned the area of all debris and even dust on surfaces prior to the abatement process. Dilante was kind to check a few other areas of the house such as the attic and kitchen vinyl flooring, which the latter might contain asbestos fibers. Another test will determine whether Dilante returns for another round of asbestos mitigation. Much appreciated team Perfectos."

"A & I did a great job with asbestos removal in my basement. They maintained a safe environment while working and cleaned the area thoroughly when completed. Isaiah was very patient in managing all of my concerns. The price was very fair. I would recommend them to anyone looking for asbestos removal."

"The service went well. They were running late, and they called and told me they were running a late. They asked if they could arrive a half hour late. I said yes, and they did so. They removed and disposed of the insulation. They also cleaned the mold from the wood and walls. And they set off an air based mold killing product too kill anything they could not see or reach. So far, so good."

Asbestos Removal questions, answered by experts

It is strongly advised not to touch or disturb asbestos-containing materials unless necessary. Asbestos fibers can be released into the air when the material is damaged or disturbed, posing serious health risks if inhaled. It is best to leave any handling of asbestos to trained professionals who can remove the asbestos safely.

In the 1980s, the use of asbestos in house siding materials underwent a significant decline, ultimately being phased out by the mid-1980s to early 1990s. This change was largely due to a growing awareness of the severe health risks associated with asbestos exposure, particularly its link to lung diseases and cancers. With increased public concern and regulatory agency involvement, building codes and regulations were updated to restrict the use of asbestos in construction materials.

While it's possible to cover asbestos tile with carpet, it's not recommended. Encapsulating tile beneath carpet doesn't eliminate the health risks. Over time, the asbestos tiles could degrade, releasing fibers into the air and potentially contaminating the carpet. Disturbance during carpet installation or removal might also release fibers.

When asbestos fibers become airborne, they enter a person's respiratory system. These fibers scar and damage the lungs and often lead to serious cancers like mesothelioma. Like many dangers in the house, asbestos isn’t easy to see when it could be causing serious damage. The amount of time exposed, combined with the person’s tolerance for asbestos inhalation and the amount inhaled, will all contribute to health problems.

You are not really supposed to seal asbestos with paint, but in theory it could work—the caveat being that this is extremely dangerous and should be avoided at all costs. The only real way to seal asbestos is with the professional application of an encapsulating material like epoxy. Due to the negative effect asbestos can have on your home, however, it is usually the best course of action to accept a costly fix and remove the material entirely.
