"George and his crew were on time and did a great job. When they left the yard looked the same as it was when they got there. They were about 70 feet tall and crew a great job. Would hire them again in a heartbeat and will again this fall for my Bradford tree in front yard."

"Great experience! The pricing was honest and fair, much less than we'd been quoted by other companies. They came out within 2 days of our estimate (because of rain the 1st day). They were very cautious and caring. They moved our loose yard decor and gazebo to keep it safely out of the way. We have a small area with a deck, garage roofs, and even a water fountain all which were avoided and left intact. They were extremely thorough leaving everything very clean. Just overall great experience, even for the kids who were as sad as us to see our tree swing go. But we stayed home most of the day so we could all watch. The boys were very entertained seeing them work in the top of the tree and using their equipment and they were very kind and patient with the boys watching and coming out. They even cut a few logs for us to keep as stepping stones for the kids. My only suggestion would be to remind homeowners if they wabt their mulch avoided (ours is rubber) to move it away from the area befors they come out. I wish I'd have thought to do that! Nonetheless, I am so happy we decided to go with this team! Which includes a lady if you want your stump ground. #strongwomen! Choose Arbor Tech you will be SO happy you did!"

"Sean Carey and his crew did an excellent job! They did what they could to save a tree that was hit by lightning..They trimmed off dead branches and left the ones that were viable..They even inserted stakes in the ground to give the tree nutrients..After they were finished they picked up all the sticks and debris ..I was very satisfied..it was a job well done..All the men were kind and respectful..I would hire them again in a heartbeat..Given the fact that I am an old woman living on social security, they gave me a really good deal that I could afford. So if you are looking for a Great tree service you must hire this one..!!!!"

"Grind Away Stump Removal and Tree Care in Springfield, OH did an amazing job! They got me in quickly, were professional, friendly, and affordable. What impressed me most was their honesty—while working, part of my old fence broke. Before I even had a chance to worry, they already had the exact replacement piece pulled up on their phone and were ready to go pick it up and fix it. I told them it wasn’t necessary since the fence was old anyway, but the fact that they were prepared and upfront about it says everything about their integrity. They also spent a lot of time talking and entertaining my 6 year old. I couldn’t recommend them more highly! Unfortunately I didn't take before pictures. I assure you it looks SO much better!"

Arborists questions, answered by experts

White vinegar does not kill ivy on trees because its acetic acid concentration is not high enough to overpower it. Vinegar is an effective herbicide for weeds and other plants, but not for the strength of most ivies, including poison ivy and English ivy. You should use an herbicide to kill ivy, such as one with glyphosate, imazapyr, or triclopyr.

There are a few instances in which removing a tree is the best option. You might do this if the tree looks to be a major danger—potentially falling onto your home, your car, or other parts of your property—or it’s diseased beyond repair. A tree that is growing too close to your house might need to be removed to prevent mold growth.

Dutch elm disease can’t harm humans. In fact, according to Cal Fire, bark beetles aren’t even typically dangerous to trees unless that tree is already weakened. The problem comes when Dutch elm disease kills a tree. That tree is more at risk of falling and catching fire, which can pose a serious threat.

You will know that an oak tree needs to be removed when you see vertical cracks or dead branch stubs, which indicate internal decay. Other signs include trunk rot near the base of the tree and sprouts or small branches coming from the trunk.

Talking with a septic pro before planting trees near your tank is best to ensure the roots won’t interfere with your septic system. However, there is an easy way to figure out where to plant a tree—but you’ll need to know how tall it can get when it’s fully grown. For instance, if the tree can reach 50 feet, plant it at least 50 feet from your septic system.
