"George and his crew were on time and did a great job. When they left the yard looked the same as it was when they got there. They were about 70 feet tall and crew a great job. Would hire them again in a heartbeat and will again this fall for my Bradford tree in front yard."

"I asked the owner to come out to my mom’s house to give me a quote on removing around 6 trees and multiple bushes. He was able to look at the property and start work within a few days of giving a quote. The crew did an amazing job and finished in two days. It looks like a totally different backyard. We are very happy with the results!"

"I highly recommend 1st Choice R&R Tree Service! From start to finish, their team was professional, courteous, and extremely knowledgeable. They provided excellent value for the work performed and exceeded my expectations in every way. The crew handled everything from tree removal to complete stump and root elimination with great care and attention to detail. They took every precaution to protect my property throughout the entire process and completed the work efficiently and safely. What impressed me most was the professionalism and friendliness of every employee I interacted with. They were respectful, helpful, and genuinely committed to doing the job right. When the work was complete, they did an outstanding cleanup, leaving my yard looking better than I expected. "Deon and his crew were hard workers and did a great job. I hired Grind away to remove some tree stumps and a pile of brush, plus they trimmed some trees and treated them plus filled in the stump area with top soil and grass seed. I am very impressed with the quality of their work. Deon was so respectful and walked me around yard to see all he did and make sure i was satisfied. I would definitely use them again and also recommend them to others. Thank you for your great service."

"I was really pleased with the work I had done from Vancil’s Expert Tree Service! After getting a few quotes from other companies, I thought I wouldn’t be able to afford having my tree trimmed because I was quoted outrageous prices from other companies. A friend recommended this tree service so I gave them a call and they were able to come give me a quote that was significantly lower than the other quotes I had received. The crew came and got the job done the very next day which I was very thankful for because every time we have a storm branches fall in my yard and driveway. TJ and his crew were very friendly and knowledgeable and the cleanup exceeded my expectations. Very happy I found this company and I have already recommended them to my family members!!!!"

Arborists questions, answered by experts

Late winter is ideal, but if you’re pruning apple trees in the spring, prune them as early as possible in the season. You want to ensure your tree is just creeping out of dormancy and hasn’t started pushing out new growth. If you prune your tree too late into spring, you generally won’t see results until the following year.

That said, there’s no pruning season for unhealthy growth. Remove dead, dying, or diseased branches as soon as you notice them, regardless of the time of year.

On grafted trees, tree suckers will grow from the root stock, not the branches grafted onto it. Therefore, the leaves and characteristics of the suckers aren’t the same as the tree because they are different varieties. Root stock has more hardiness, strength, or drought tolerance than its grafted limbs, so if the suckers are from fruit or flowers, it might be different than the main part of your tree.

Unfortunately, most of the time you’re out of luck if a neighbor’s tree blocks your view. You don’t have a right to a view, so if you have a tree that’s near the property line but on your neighbor’s property, you can’t cut it to be able to take in a majestic mountain or a beautiful sunrise. In some communities, however, there are ordinances protecting scenic views. Checking into your local laws can help you determine your rights in this situation.

Early signs that a tree is struggling include premature leaf shedding and lesions or other strange markings. Peeling bark, dead or rotten branches on the ground, and a conspicuous lack of leaves can all be signs that a tree has started to die. By the time a tree starts leaning, it’s usually too far gone to save.

Costs depend on tree height, trunk diameter, removal complexity, and required equipment.
