Customers say: True professional

"I never hired anyone to paint before, and I am glad when I decided to do so, I found CDJ Remodeling. I hired them to paint my living room, hallway, entryway, ceilings, trim and doors. Chris, Jessica and Stacey are all very personable and know their stuff. They did an amazing job, my house looks fantastic! They pay attention to the smallest of details, things I would not have thought of or noticed myself, and it shows in the finished product. The price was extremely affordable and the project was finished on time. My kitchen is next, and they will definitely be the company I hire to take that on. Thanks guys!"

"Chris with Friesen Family Renovations, LLC was very professional and thorough in the work he has completed. He installed a new screen door, replaced my tub stem and faucet, repaired my subfloor in the kitchen and installed brand new LVP flooring to replace old and water damaged flooring. He also mounted a television for me, and did some drywall repairs as well. I would recommend this business to anyone looking for quality and dependable work!"

"Armand is the best! He updated our entire home with new electrical when we were renovating (1950s home). Itâ s been several years and not a single issue. He was very safety conscious and would guide us on the best placements of things with a house full of kids. Weâ ve recommended him to several friends who have also used and loved him!"

"We had a bathroom exhaust fan installed. James was very friendly he did a great job. He had to crawl through our low attic all the way to the farthest end of the house to run the vent through the roof. I'm sure that was not fun. James cleaned up after the job."

"Robert Begg Effiicent, quick and cleaned-up after words. Successfully installed track lighting system over high stairwell when I did not think it would be possible. Was prepared for a full day to perform all replacements and installations but finised in about 3.5 hours. At little costly, but the work got done and looks great."

Ceiling Fans questions, answered by experts

Ceiling fans can be a great way to cool your home without the expensive utility bill of running an air conditioner. Plus, ceiling fans can sometimes run in both directions, pushing hot air down in winter and pulling cold air up in summer. With that said, air conditioning might be the only thing that helps if you live in a very warm climate.

Hiring an electrician to install a new ceiling fan may be the best course of action. Installing a ceiling fan requires basic electrical and mechanical knowledge. It also requires holding it up with one hand and in an awkward position, making the installation even more difficult. If you’re uncomfortable with these circumstances, your best bet is to hire a professional.

Stainless steel or aluminum fans are long-lasting and have less air resistance. They are best for outdoor use as their durability helps them withstand unpleasant weather conditions. Their heavy weight requires a stronger motor, which leads to more noise than other blade materials.

Wooden fan blades are a classic, durable option. They are much quieter than metal fans and feature a wide range of styles and finishes to choose from. However, they can be damaged by moisture if not covered with plastic.

Plastic fan blades are lightweight, easy to clean, and versatile. There are various shapes and styles to choose from as plastic is easily molded and dyed. They will also deteriorate slower than other materials as they aren’t as susceptible to humidity and moisture.

The number of blades for your fan poses both advantages and disadvantages. Typically, the more blades on a fan, the better the air distribution and cooling effect, but this also means that your fan will have more wear on its motor. For small rooms, three-blade fans should work fine. For larger areas like living rooms, four or five-blade fans might be the better option.

Identifying the source of noises is your first step to soundproofing a room without overspending. Generally, sound comes from inside or outside of the house. Inside noises include creaking floors, living noises like TVs in the living room, cooking sounds, or kids being kids. External noises generally include incremental weather, disturbing neighbors, and street traffic. Inside noises require you to soundproof floors, ceilings, and doors, whereas outside noises may require you to soundproof your attic, windows, and walls facing the streets.
