Home built in 1890 and had some repairs/renovations over the years that weren't quite what we wanted. On our list to remedy was a poorly textured ceiling that we thought we would have to replace. Gabriel and his NR Painting Services team somehow sanded down the ceiling leaving a smooth surface. There was no dust. It was like magic. They painted the walls and ceiling, making additional small patches. The professionalism and quality of work were both outstanding. He was a pleasure to work with and we appreciated his attention to detail. Already looking forward to our next project with them!

I'll start with the positive and perhaps the most important. They spent a lot of time prepping the house and it looks good. It did sound like a party outside every morning between 7-7:30; my neighbors work nights. The negative-beware of any company that says they will meet your budget. It's not the first time it has happened to me. Things go along well for a while and then things start getting renegotiated. There were a few minor repairs to be made in the original agreement. I had to request them many times and still one hasn't been done. During the estimate, I was asked what color I wanted the foundation; when it came time to paint it, I was told it was going to be extra. In the beginning, owner mentioned that he was going to change a rusty corner piece of a gutter-in the end, wouldn't do it-complained about the labor cost-the next painter took about 10 minutes to change it out. The owner has an attitude and a half-told me that he just took the job because he wanted my house to look nice and didn't need the job or the money as if my $10,000 was chump change. The agreement was that they would paint the house one color and the trim another color and that I would paint the porches. My wife decided that she wanted the gables painted a different color. They "cried a river" about that, about how much extra work and inconvenience that would be and wanted an extra $850 to do it. I told them not to bother, but since they had already done it and my idea of where the porch ended was different than theirs, I offered to pay them an extra $1000 for their trouble. (They were still able to paint two coats on the full house in one afternoon!) Even though the balance of the money was not supposed to be paid until the completion of the job, I wanted to be fair and paid them everything except for $1000 which was held back pending completion of the windows which the owner said he would paint after he returned from vacation. (Don't know why his helpers couldn't finish the job-I wasn't going to ask to have the whole house repainted!) Contacted him a couple of weeks later after he returned, said he was busy but would get back to me. Got a text a couple of weeks later which said they would come in a week or two-that never happened. Got a later text that they would come the following week-that didn't happen either. The next week, which by now was 3 months later, received a text saying that they were coming the next day. I told Gabriel that I was out of town and couldn't be there to let them in. He told me that that was the only day they could come because they were busy. So, after waiting for 3 months, I told him that that was really poor service and that there wasn't any good reason why they couldn't just finish me up before starting someone else. Anyway, I hired Margarita Painting, who finished the job and painted what I asked, for $200 less than what I would have had to pay NR.

Gabriel was amazing to work with! Extremely professional, responsive, and prompt. His team did a fantastic job, and they were able to accommodate changes during the project without any issues. Great quality, fair pricing, and truly a pleasure to work with!
