It turns out that it was from our upstairs bathroom toilet (which we were going to replace anyways) The plumber Tyler was super kind and helpful. He fixed our leak and installed the new toilet that I had on my hubby's to do list. I was also surprised about how reasonable their weekend rates were and how fast Tyler got out to us. Thank you again. We will defiantly be calling you back when we have a tankless water heater put in!!!"

"We purchased a late 1930?s home in Clintonville in late December, 2011. One of the recommendations of the home inspector that we hired was that we switch out the old Federal Pacific electric panel in the basement.  Matt Wehrle was recommended by a friend-of-a-friend who was very impressed with the work that he had done for her in her Clintonville home. When I had heard that he was a local family man, we were immediately interested because we like to hire local folks who have homes of their own in the area and who also have families to feed.
I called Matt on Tuesday (9/17) and arranged to meet him at my house the next day (Wednesday). I was immediately impressed with his background, professionalism, and particularly his knowledge as he informed that the Federal Pacific electric panels were known notoriously to be fire hazards! (House inspector never mentioned that part!) His estimate was pretty much in line with the other estimates I had been given prior to our meeting so, all things considered,  I hired him on the spot. When I asked him how soon he could start, I was surprised when he said ?how?s Monday morning sound??.say 8:30?9:00??   ?.and so the date was set!
They (Matt and his co-worker, Craig) arrived a head of time and got started promptly, just as soon as they walked in the door. I left a few times to go out and run some errands and when I returned, they were working just as consistently as when I had left them. They were both extremely polite and courteous and I rather enjoyed their company. Being somewhat of a geek myself, I asked numerous questions about what they were doing and how they were doing it?and they were both quite willing to take the time to explain. I was particularly interested in Craig?s profound knowledge of the history of electrical wiring; how it used to be in early years versus how it?s done today. On separate occasions, I took them each through the house to discuss other projects for which I would need the benefit of their expertise.
Both gentlemen were a delight and the job they did was quite spectacular. They upgraded me to a 200 AMP service panel, installed a new metering system outside, and installed a whole-house surge protector?.all in about 5 hours. They cleaned up after themselves when they were finished.
It?s hard to find folks (you trust) who are willing to work hard to produce a GOOD PRODUCT. We can now scratch one more task off of our very long list!

"Our overall experience with Finished Basements Plus was positive. We got a total of three quotes on finishing our basement and they came in the lowest. We did not choose them simply because of their price, we also read all of the reviews on Angie's List and looked at their portfolio of finished photos on their website. We also liked their approach with using metal studs as opposed to wood studs and their willingness to keep the cost down by creatively working around some obstructions (aka pipes) instead of moving them. We initially met with Brian who came out and looked at our space and made suggestions on the layout and talked through their process. He then was able to give us a quote on the stop, which included finishing the larger space of 790 sq feet, 45 sq ft full bath and a large built in storage unit. The other two quotes from contractors took well over 5 days to get. They have a standard finishing package that includes metal studs, dry wall ceiling, basic carpet, light switches, recessed lights, doors, etc. Along the way you have the option to upgrade certain things and they were relatively easy to work with doing those. Todd (co-owner & project manager) is a nice guy, he sometimes challenged us on some of our upgrade asks and could be difficult at times, but in the end helped us achieve those. For example, we upgraded our vanity in our bathroom and picked it out ourselves and brought it home. They then installed it and deducted the price from our final payment. They also installed a few ceiling plugs for us and ran the HDMI cords for us, at no additional cost. They have approximately 6 different crews that come into the home. Framing, dry wall hanging, dry wall finishing, ceiling finishing, plumbing, carpet and final finishes (finishing crew is the same as the framing crew). The carpet wholesaler they use is great to work with too. He is not your typical carpet salesman, he doesn't try to get you to upgrade. He lays out the facts and the prices and lets you choose. Every crew was respectful, polite and timely. We have small children, so we were concerned about having so many strangers in our house. We didn't even hear any inappropriate language. They also have a guy who comes around a few times a week and picks up the trash and cleans up. He is very nice and helpful. They got all of the proper city inspections and they are present for all of them. Overall they are a great value and do great work. Their only weakness that we are bit disappointed in were the finishing touches and the built ins. The built ins we paid extra for included shelves and a storage box (for toys). It was no where near the quality that Brian originally described and showed pictures of. The painting was a bit sloppy in spots, access door near water shut off is not the best carpentry work, a couple spots where trim came together isn't very smooth and we are noticing painting on the doors is not of the best quality. Thankfully these are minor things that can be easily fixed with the exception of the built in. Overall construction and important things like plumbing, electrical and HVAC are perfect! We highly recommend them."
