"REVIEW FOR CARIFA TILE 2/26/2025 CARIFA TILE JUST FINISHED installing beautiful 2-foot by 4-foot tiles in my tub surrounding and it is stunning. From my first call to the final finish, I was well cared for by the staff at CARIFA TILE. Joe Dismuke personally reviewed and refined my wants and needs for the project with me. Though this was a small project I felt CARIFA TILE considered me an important customer. Ciera, the project manager for my job, was hands-on from day one informing me of each step of my installation. Gustavos is a master craftsman who expertly installed my tiles, and I appreciated that his work area was contained and kept clean. I am extremely pleased with the entire job and all of the personnel who helped make it an easy process for me. I gladly recommend CARIFA TILE. Thank you everyone. Linda"

"D4 Construction is a contractor I got from Angie’s list. The gentleman I worked with was Anthony. His response was timely and his quote for the job he did for me I thought was very fair. Not only did he repair my ceramic tile on my front porch, but also took time to fill in the cracks that were starting to appear as well. Further I had a planter in my yard that was coming apart. This was not included in his quote but he fixed it for me anyway. I feel like Anthony went the extra mile to fix my issues. I would recommend him to anyone needing ceramic and mortar repair work."

"I cannot say enough good things about Roger and Landan and the rest of their crew. They are extremely professional, courteous, jovial and down to earth. They came out and gave an estimate and I was ready to hire them on the spot but thought I should get a second estimate. Krumlauf Flooring was able to do everything I needed whereas the second estimate could only do the flooring. I had a wall taken down between my dining room and kitchen and needed a small section of subflooring laid as well. Krumlauf was able to do that as well. Landan did an excellent job on the ceramic wall time and Roger even offered to trim the front door and hallway closet. They went out of their way perform work that I wasn't aware needed to be done. Such a joy to work with. I already have my next project lined up - as soon as I recover from this one!! Thank you so much for the excellent work!!"

"Rene is incredibly nice, a great communicator. He always let us know when he was coming. We had tiles that had come off of our shower wall and didn't know what to do. We had Rene out to look and see if he could salvage the shower. He and his crew did an AMAZING job removing the surrounding tiles, even went above and beyond what we asked and smoothed out tiles that were previously out of place. He also regrouted the whole shower. They also kept a very clean area, which I appreciated. What was a tired looking shower, he made look fresh and new. I would absolutely hire Rene for another job and feel very comfortable knowing I would get a great result."

"In 2024 I had the Master Bathroom totally remodeled. In May 2025 my main bathroom was totally remodeled. I am so pleased with the work. I feel that Rob and Brian ensure the personal touch that meets your expectations. Their work is meticulously and well done. They are unbothered by questions because they want to make sure that you are happy with the final product. Thank you both."

Ceramic Tile questions, answered by experts

If you hire a professional to lay tile, you can expect to pay $3 to $15 per square foot for labor. For a 100-square-foot tiling project, that would equal $30 to $150 in labor. These costs may increase if you need extra services (such as tile removal, wall repair, or waterproofing). For example, tile removal costs an additional $2 to $7 per square foot.

Yes, it’s possible to cut tile without a wet saw; instead, you can use an angle grinder, a glass cutter, a snap cutter, tile nippers, or a rotary tool with a tile-cutting blade. A manual tile cutter or snap cutter works well for the larger tiles that wet saws are typically used for, while smaller projects might just require nippers or a glass cutting wheel. If you’re working with large quantities of tile, however, power tools are best.

There are several tools that you will use together to install tiles. Four of the most basic tools needed in tile installation include a notched trowel for applying tile adhesive, a tile cutter or saw for cutting tiles to size, tile spacers for creating the appropriate amount of space between tiles, and a grout float for applying grout.

You can, in theory, tile your fireplace hearth with most tiles. However just because you can, doesn’t mean you should. For example, it’s much better to use unglazed tiles because glazed tiles are more resistant to cracking under extreme heat. Porcelain is more heat-resistant than ceramic, but you can still design the hearth as you like by putting the most heat-resistant tiles directly under the fire and, if it matches your style, add more decorative tiles further from the center of the fire.

There isn’t a one-size-fits-all best tile for a dog shower. Consider your budget, tile durability, aesthetics, and, most importantly, practicality. Avoid tiles your dog will slide around on. Pebbles are a great non-slip option, but are pricey and tricky to install. Glass might look modern, but it’s not scratch-resistant. Small, floor-rated ceramic or porcelain tiles are economical and have many grout lines that make the surface more slip-resistant. Pick a matte finish rather than a shiny tile if you want it to hide stray mud and hairs better.
