Back in 1978, Archie Wilson and Gene Hehenmann made the decision to leave their jobs and form a partnership, Midwestern Plumbing Service. In the beginning, it was a small company, not unlike so many start-ups. But they worked hard, getting business that could keep their plumbers busy. Over the years, they built their company along with their reputation as a dependable and competitive contractor focusing on the multi-family and commercial/industrial business.
"Disposal broken. Plumber got it working but made horrible sound like something was in it. He refused to look inside and said I needed a new disposal and would order it for me. After he left I reached in and pulled out a bottle cap. Noise gone. Disposal working great. No need for new one. A few days after the plumber came there was a leak under the sink. A connector had been knocked loose and I couldn't get it tightened. Called Midwestern to come back and fix it. They canceled due to bad weather (completely reasonable) but never called back to reschedule. I called them and they said I was already on the schedule for that Saturday. No one bothered to tell me. I had to get a friend to come over bc I had to work. She waited 3 hours and no one showed up. When I called, they said I was not on the schedule. So, I rescheduled again for that Wednesday. Again I had to work so had to have another friend come over. Again, no one showed. I'm done. What a completely disorganized, unprofessional company."

"Okay job - the plumber came - put his tools in the bathroom then proceeded to tell me it would cost $450 - I supplied the faucet and everything connected with it that was in the box The plumber had a helper with him - it took 1 1/2 hours - the plumber sat there and told the helper what to do- step by step - if the plumber did it himself, it would have only taken 45 minutes- I was never told the cost of the job when I called the office to set it up - I was told after they got here and thought it was high but maybe there was a lot to do / I supplied the faucet and all attachments- all they did was the labor - even with a $50 coupon it still cost $414 with tax / would I do it again - NO - I think it was too high"

Grace Plumbing is a Christ based business that you can trust to do the best possible job for you and your family.
"Not honest about cost of labor. Be sure to ask what his partner charges bc I was almost double charged for labor on last job!! Used Grace Plumbing twice because we were so happy with the first job. When I asked his cost for labor he did not include the cost of labor for his partner. They replaced the tub plugs in 3 tubs for the second job. Took under an hour (close to an hour) and he charged me $225 in labor. $100 for his partner and $125 for him. Even though his cost of labor that he told me was $125 for the first hour. The one bathroom also had the trash still on toilet and plug wasn’t screwed on. When I spoke to him after, he said that the cost would have been the same but I don’t believe it would have taken him two hours. I explained I understood he has to pay his partner but when you tell someone what you charge you either include your partner in that charge or you have to disclose your partners fees. I feel like I was taken advantage of. My husband is beyond angry and mad I paid him the total cost of labor. Buyer Beware!!"

RainSoft is an independently-owned and operated company based in Columbus, Ohio. RainSoft has been committed to providing the very best in water and air purification for over 50 years. Our list of services and products include – whole house water purification systems, room and whole house air purification equipment, trained service professionals as well as other energy saving products for your homes. Additional DBA - Pure H2O Inc.
"Wouldn't give a plugged nickel for this company. Incompetent, destructive, damaged 100-old home by destroying plaster, allowing significant leaks from faulty installation, and refused to repair damage and unresponsive to concerns. Their equipment failed so their response was to turn it off while continuing to bill for 'service' which is a bunch of crock. Anyone who contracts with these crooks will be ripped off."

The license requirements for water softener installation depend on your location. Some municipalities require that the installer hold a plumbing license, some require a permit and an inspection, but no license for the installer, and some require a permit and a license for the installer. Regardless of the local laws in your area, it’s always a good idea to hire a licensed plumber or installer. These pros will install your system properly and have the experience to size the system appropriately. Use Angi’s state licensing tool to check your installer’s license status.
Water softeners are worth the money if you live in an area with hard water. Hard water is safe to drink, but it poses serious threats to your plumbing system. The minerals in hard water will gradually build up on the inside walls of your pipes, reducing water flow to your fixtures. The minerals can also gradually corrode your plumbing system, reduce its lifespan, and increase the risk of leaks. Hard water also makes soap and detergent less effective. Water softener systems can solve all these issues, making them a great investment.
It’s possible to install a water softener yourself, but we don’t recommend it. Water softeners require working with copper pipes and electrical wiring, neither are suitable tasks for most DIYers. Plus, working with water and electricity together is dangerous and could pose a risk to your safety. Water softeners also need to be calibrated so that they don’t make your water too soft, as soft water poses just as many risks as hard water. Overall, it’s well worth hiring a local water softener installer to place your water softener system.
The cost to install a water softener system is $1,500 on average, ranging between $200 and $6,000. The labor for water softener work typically costs between $150 and $1,000, so you can add that to your equipment costs to get an accurate total. Your price will depend on many factors, including the following:
System capacity
Home size
Water hardness levels
Type of water softener
Presence of electricity in the installation area
Local permit costs
Your water softener size is based on your total household water consumption. In most cases, you can assume the average household member will use around 75 gallons per day. Multiply that by the number of people in your home, then multiply by 10 (for the typical grains per gallon). You’ll get a number in grains that should help roughly size your water softener. However, it’s best to hire a professional to install your system and use more exact numbers, like your exact average water consumption per day and starting water hardness.
