"Beware of shipping issues with this company. Ordered an ice maker installation kit on 10/10/25. Shipping was due no later than 10/20 according to company and FedEx tracking. FedEx tracking showed the package at their facility for 8 days without moving beginning on 10/15. Called FedEx 3 times. Each time they said they cannot find package and I have to contact shipper. Shipper has to make a claim, they will not mark it as lost. Called Appliance Parts Pros twice. Each time they say FedEx has to mark package lost before they will do anything. They also state they have to wait 14 days from them before doing anything because of their contract with FedEx. I don't care about their contract, I want what was ordered and paid for. Just going in circles with them and FedEX. If they shipped after 14 days it would be 22 days from that point, 32 days from the date of order if they shipped it that day. There was a deadline for installing this part before tenants arrive. They did not care, would not m"

"Earlier today, I woke up to a homeowner nightmare with a freezer that had gone out with food defrosting and hundreds of dollars melting away in front of my eyes. As my husband transferred the contents of the freezer into coolers with ice for interim storage, I called in a panic looking for help. Initially, I was told they were unsure if someone could arrive same day but they would do their best. When I called for an update, they had no one confirmed. I then received a call and technicians were en route. Two men arrived and efficiently and professionally addressed my problem in short order. I came to find out at the end of the appointment that one of the gentleman was actually the owner who understood our plight and came out himself as there were no additional available workers. I would wholeheartedly recommend this top notch company."

"I found TSP responsive on the AC & Heating side. They do good but not excellent work. TSP in my personal experience normally has had to return to repair what they've done at least one extra time about 70% of the time. I'm unsure why when evaluating the repairs, it appears they miss something and have to return to fix it again. I've used TSP numerous times for over 10 years, however, TSP repeatedly has not called me with repair estimates. Although I've informed TSP repeatedly that I require an estimate before any repairs can be done, the company continues to ignore my request. For the last repair, I requested a technician visit a rental property to check the non-working furnace. The tech went to the property, diagnosed the problem, and fixed the furnace but never bothered to call me to provide an estimate of repair. I called TSP to discuss their bill. I informed TSP rep, Dave, that the company continues to ignore my request to provide me an estimate prior to making repairs and continues to repair and bill me without my approval to take any amount of money out of my pocket. I stressed that my call for service is not a blank check for their company to go on-site and fill out a check for the amount I have to pay. I must be provided the opportunity to say no, not now, or just thank you. Again I was informed that it is their procedure when they get a service call to go out and fix the problem and that they do not call to get approval or provide an estimate for repair to complete the repair found by the technician. After discussing the issue with company rep Dave, I was told by Dave that this last bill would be voided but to never call their company for service again. I informed Dave that his company procedure is a violation of the Ohio Consumer Sales Practices Act at 109:4-3-0S(C) which requires a written estimate for any work or repair over $50 dollars. I was told that's not what we do! Obviously! Just frustrating and disappointing."

Appliancezone.com is a leading on-line retailer of appliance parts and accessories for do-it-yourself homeowners. Incorporated in 2008, it was started by CEO, Jim Allen and his wife Paula, who operated an appliance repair business for nearly fourteen years prior to starting the internet company Appliance Zone.

"This is the first online review I've ever written -- my experience with this company was that bad. Three aspects that deserve attention: 1) I placed an order and tried to cancel six minutes later. Turns out they don't accept cancellations. 2) I couldn't find a phone number, so I had to work the return/refund by email. The exchange was painful -- so unhelpful I felt like I was interacting with a bad chatbot. 3) I ended up eating shipping costs (expected) and got hit for a 50% restocking fee (unexpected) because I refused the package instead of paying to ship it back. Didn't matter that it went to the correct address, was clearly labeled, and had prior return authorization. So I ended up with a $21 refund on a $60 order, and a lesson learned about where not to buy appliance parts."

Appliance Repair questions, answered by experts

The order of the steps for your kitchen remodel depends on the project scope, layout, and contractor availability. However, typically, you would install plumbing and electrics first, then insulation and drywall, before moving on to the flooring, cabinetry, and countertops. Appliances usually go in last. You can then take the time to add the fixtures, hardware, and other final personal touches.

When dealing with electrical work, getting several projects done at once can save you time and money. If an electrician is coming to replace a circuit box, have them replace outlets or light fixtures, too. Adding light switches, outlets, and fixtures to any electrical project you have going on is the most common way to get home improvement projects done quicker.

There are a few factors to consider if you’re deciding between repairing and replacing your air conditioner. It’s probably worth fixing the AC unit if it’s less than 10 years old, you’re dealing with a one-off issue, and your warranty or maintenance plan will cover the repairs. On the other hand, if your air conditioner is dated, inefficient, out of warranty, and experiencing multiple problems, consider replacing it.

A washer and dryer must be plugged into a GFCI outlet when installed in a laundry room, utility room, garage, or basement with the required water source. These spaces require that all outlets be GFCI-protected. Elsewhere, there is no specific requirement for plugging a washer and dryer into a GFCI outlet. However, you may wish to do so for extra peace of mind.

The average life span of an HVAC system is 15 to 20 years. Even if your old air conditioner is still functional, it isn't as energy-efficient as a newer system (especially one with an Energy Star designation). Older HVAC systems aren't as efficient, and the 10-year mark is when you should start making full system replacement plans. Twenty years in, that plan should be well underway rather than waiting for the unit to die.
