The tech scratched the front of our frigerator new door was unavailable so they gave me a few gift cards and I still have to pay to repair repair still not done

I was told the service cost was $89.00 but that was only the travel fee, I had to pay $55.00 for a diagnostic fee, the total was $148.38. I had to purchase a new refrigerator, I would not have had the service if I had been informed that there was an extra diagnostic cost. I would have used that to help pay for my new refrigerator. When the service is scheduled, the customer should be informed that there is an extra diagnostic fee and told what the basic fee is. This would have saved me $148.38.

Repair technician arrived within the promised four time frame. Technician seemed unaware of the fix for what has been a common problem. Charge for the repair part, a refurbished circuit board, was more than the retail price a new original equipment board. Found out after the fact that my credit card was charged twice for the same service. Sears refused to take ownership of the duplicate billing problem.

It didn't go very well, as we explained to them that the information that we were given from the technician did not match what the company was telling us. We cancelled the service right away, but it was after we had already paid for the initial service and the monthly installment on the home warranty. NOT GOOD Sears---NOT GOOD!!!!!

To make things better they could have showed up. They could have diagnosed the problem correctly. They?could have still? said that they would come out and verify any work that I did and make sure it was right at?whatever rate. I ended up doing it because they had the parts shipped to my house and then they never called so I ended up just starting to look?at it and I did it myself with watching a U-Tube.

When the repairman arrived, he fixed the dryer, but advised us that repairing the refrigerator would cost hundreds of dollars and we should purchase the Sears Home Warranty. We purchased the warranty, but when we called to get the repair done, we experienced 4 or 5 visits after which they said they don't service pre-existing problems. The initial repairman knew that when he advised us. Sears also refused to refund our payment for the warranty, stating that the 4 or 5 visits cost the amount we paid for the warranty. Very disappointing.

The first man out was more of a salesman than repairman, laying out a couple of home maintenance plans that he strongly urged us to consider. He did finally see what the problem was. He told us that the parts would be ordered and be sent to us. Starting the next day Sears began a series of calls that either tried to arrange a time for the next repairer to install the parts, or, at least once, just telling us when the repairer would be out - all these before we'd received the parts! The parts arrived after about 6 days and we called and arranged for someone to make the fix. I dreaded the visit because the first guy promised more sales speeches would be part of the routine, but the second guy just showed up and did his job. The machine was satisfactorily repaired. If the second repairer was the only person we had to deal with and the parts had been sent to him before he scheduled an appointment, this review would have been much better. We are now avoiding purchases where Sears is the repair service.

The service person never showed up. My husband called and, after many run-arounds, he was told that Sears had never scheduled a service person to come out despite what they told us earlier - and Sears offered to reschedule. My husband refused rescheduling and sent a strong letter of complaint, canceling the remainder of our Sears service contract and promising never to use them again.

I looked up refrigerator-freezer model number on PartsSelect and ordered a replacement evaporator fan kit. After receiving the parts, I replaced the fan myself in 35 minutes. The cost was $46.85 in parts and 35 minutes of my time.

They were nice, they were fine. They came out once. They didn't fix it the first time. They thought the vent was blocked and so we cleaned all that out but it turned out, whether or not that was the problem, I don't know. After that, it still didn't work. The heat element still didn't work properly so they came out a second time and they did not charge us for the visit. they just charged us for the part that needed to be replaced.

He did an excellent job. He did a real good job and I was pleased. The thing I was disappointed in was I paid him and he gave me a receipt when he finished doing the  job for $129 and last month I got a bill saying the bill was not paid. So I called the number on the bill and I explained to him that I had paid it and he checked it for me and everything and he saw that I had paid it and he told me he would straight it out and that it was a mistake. I got a letter saying it had been paid. I was real pleased with that. The person that did the job was courteous and he was a nice person. He didn’t try to tell me something was wrong or charge more money. He told me I had a real nice central air conditioner and that he has the same type and they don’t make them anymore.  The kind that we have lasts. They came out when they said they were going to come out.

RIP OFF!!! I can't remember the exact price, but it was something like $89 to come out and tell me what's wrong. They ended up charging me something like another extra $40 just for telling me where I can buy the part I needed...the part that they don't carry.

Service tech charged for a service call plus his work for removing and replacing the controls. He should have checked the power source first. Cost was $148.00 to plug it in! Not good customer service. I'm not pleased with Sears. Now, Three months later, our Three year old Kenmore French door-bottom freezer refrigerator is leaking water from the freezer, another product flaw that Sears will no take responsibility for. Don't think I'll shop at Sears again.
