In 1958, when Leo and Virginia Sloan entered the appliance service business, they set out to provide the best service in their market. Over the years, the name “Sloan Appliance Service” has become synonymous with quality. Today, Sloan Appliance has grown to twenty employees and is more successful than ever. We’re the largest independent appliance service company in the Midlands. We are also the exclusive repair and parts resource for premium brand of appliances, such as Viking, Bosch, Sub Zero, Uline, Thermador, Wolf, and Five Star. Other companies will not service many of these brands. All technicians are certified by the manufacturer and Sloan Appliance has access to technical assistance direct from the factory. Our labor warranty is 30 days from repair date and our warranty for parts is 1 year. No other service provider in the Midlands can offer this. Maytag Washer, Purchased July 2023. Maytag Washer stops working properly, October 2023. Four warranty service appointments scheduled over six months. Four days off work because Sloan won't give me a time to expect them until the night before. One appointment cancelled by Sloan. Three appointments with three different service technicians. Three different diagnoses, twice requiring parts to be ordered and the service to be rescheduled. Multiple calls to Sloan and requests to speak to a manager--someone who is accountable. Zero calls back from a manager. One lemon of a Maytag washing machine still not repaired after months of frustration. Thanks, Sloan Appliance Service!

Drew Boyleston did an awesome job . I got a recording that he was on his way , 5 minutes later he pulled up and got to work. Thought we were going to have to replace icemaker in subzero but Drew found a loose gear screw and fixed it. Also had a spring go bad on a Wolfe stove so he called supplier for parts ,ordered them and look to see Drew next week to fix that appliance. Over all Drew is very personable and professional and deserves a 5 star.

I wasted $400 on a refrigerator repair! Sloan came out on 9/22/2022 to fix a drain line clog on my 7 year old Whirlpool refrigerator; tech said I needed a new gasket for the freezer compartment as well and ordered it; replaced it the next week; total cost was $400; the repair didn’t last 90 days! Refrigerator started icing up again and the fan motor sounded like a lawn mower running in my house; I was advised on 12/12/2022 that the work is only warranted 30 days and they would charge me another $100 to come out and the next appointment was 10 days; I bought a new refrigerator from Lowes and a 5 year warranty! Won’t use Sloan again.

The first physical appt. with Sloan was on 9-29 which was a fill in appt because someone cancelled. That appt. cost $100 for service fee and an estimate of $377... A part was ordered and another appt acheduled. That appt revealed another part needed and was ordered and another appt on Oct. 24th. Parts installed and a load tested. Seemed to work and paid remaining bill. Two loads later, washer quit again. Josh T was technician the whole time and did not see that the washer had another issue that would require $700 more dollars to fix. I was without a washer for over a month thinking that it would be repaired with the next appointment. I am totally livid that we've spent almost $400 for a machine that was not worth fixing in the first place. Will never use Sloan appliance again!!!

I would recommend not using this company, they are very unprofessional. A tech came to our house on May 3rd, our LG refrigerator was under warranty so the parts were ordered. This same tech came back on May 18th, at my house less than 20 minutes. Stated he did not preform a complete check his first visit and another part is needed. So I received a call today, May 19th, they are wanting to schedule another appointment so the field manager come out. So evidently they are not confident in their tech's diagnosis, for them to send the field manager. Then if there is another part needed, they will have to schedule another visit to make the repairs. If you listen to their message while you are on hold, it talks about the training their technicians receive which is absolutely not what I experienced. The sad part is this is probably not the service the company was founded on, to be in business since 1958. This is listed on the company page, not sure how they get 98% 1st time complete rate. We fix it fast. We carry the largest parts inventory. We fix it right. Exclusive Access to Brand Support. We fix it on time. Over 98% 1st Time Complete Rate. We fix it with expertise. Quality Service Since 1958. Not sure who to call for repairs, but I would stay away from this company.

"Thank you for your review and comments. We should have been better, and we are truly sorry for any inconvenience The refrigerant type in your LG refrigerator is relatively new to the industry. All Sloan technicians have received training in proper repair of these systems. It is disappointing that this training was evidently not effective in this case. Short term, we are sending our Field Service Manager to complete the refrigeration repair on Friday. He has extensive knowledge and training in this type of repair. Long term, we are retraining all technicians in this type of refrigerant system. We will do whatever we can to renew your original faith in us I am sorry we were not better. The technician was pleasant and professional- unfortunately after obtaining a lid lock replacement part, he determined that issue was not the source of the problem and the replacement part+ installation was too expensive to make the repair worthwhile. The repair technician was informative and helpful throughout the process.

The technician arrived on time and had the part needed to repair the freezer with him. He's well qualified having worked for Sloan for 20+ years. I was impressed with his knowledge of the freezer and the efficiency with which he fixed it. I would have no reservations about requesting Sloan's services again.

Fridge wasn't cold enough. Serviceman came out and said the compressor was bad and only parts covered by warranty. Didn't know that comp. has 5 years parts AND labor. Had to order the compressor which took a week. We spent a lot of money on ice and had to throw out loads of food while waiting. He installed the new compressor but fridge still wasn't cold enough. Then he decided the problem was a refrigerant leak so he fixed that but it still wasn't cold enough. My opinion is that he did the compressor first because it was easier. T do the refrigerant he had to remove the back panel on the inside of the fridge. If I had paid for the compressor that apparently wasn't needed, I'd be livid. He didn't bother to test the mother board so we sent an email to Sloan suggesting that the mother board was just another guess. No response. I filled out their online survey--no response. My husband called--they said they'd get back to him. No response. He called again and they danced around the issue and claimed the tech tested the mother board. I watched him the whole time he was here. He did NOT remove the cover plate on the back so there's no way he tested it. We will never use these people again.

This extreme length of time to complete this repair is unacceptable both to you and Sloan Appliance. As the member mentions, the compressor was replaced, as this is and has been, a chronic issue for LG refrigerators. The fact that this unit required replacement of the compressor and control board is quite rare. However, it is frustrating to you, the customer. I deeply regret that we could not successfully repair your refrigerator to your satisfaction. We have committed to install the needed control board at our cost. We were very pleased with our repairman from Sloan Appliance. Zane was very thorough, took the machine apart and cleaned the hidden components, cleaned up after himself, and was pleasant but professional. We would hire him again.
