"I called Mr. electric to install a ceiling fan in an upstairs bedroom. They came out the same day and were on time. The tech was very friendly and professional. They wanted $650 to install the ceiling fan that I had already purchased! I got two other quotes from electricians and both of those quotes were $250. That's a no brainer! Make sure you get a few quotes for your electrical work!! Mr electric is severely over priced!!!"

"They were very professional. Had another company work on it but the furnace never was quiet or efficient. Since Mr Coy has worked on it it's not only quiet but doesn't run as much and is warmer than before. I highly recommend them."

"My son and I smelled a really strong electrical odor. They sent an electrician the same day named Brandon S. He was able to detect the issue as faulty light bulbs in my kitchen ceiling fan. Once removed, the smell went completely away and he did not charge me for the visit. He was very kind, professional, and even gave me a light bulb that he recommended I use. I would recommend this company."

"We've used Jaime about 10 times. . . . .we don't feel there is anyone else worth calling in the area, can do it all. Ran new electrical box to wall and installed electric fireplace in our finished basement side. Jaime had to get creative as the wall was discovered to be solid and not regular drywall. But he does it like it's nothing. Thanks again."

"Team hired to wall demo, soffit removal, drywall repair for both, replacement wiring, new wiring, 350 sq ft porcelain tile

installation.

Eli met with us for over an hour, listening to what we wanted for the remodel.   He provided excellent direction and ideas, helping us decide based on professional opinion and current trends.   Trying to save money, we asked if we could perform some of the tasks on the quote, such as cabinet and floor removal.   Eli reduced the quote, working with us and identifying things we could do or change in order to lower the price.

Demo was quick.  Crew did a great job cleaning up afterwards.  Time was taken to make sure demo was completed leaving nice, clean lines for the drywall guy.

Had to change plans and increase work on wiring job and ceiling patch.  Ceiling had to be completely removed vs. the originally planned few patch jobs.  Additional light boxes and a few other items had to be purchased, not included in original quote.  The new charges were reasonable, covering additional supplies required and not the labor.  Eli went the extra mile to keep us as close to budget as possible.

Drywall patching in numerous areas turned out perfect.  We were told by other contractors the job could not be done without complete removal.  The patches turned out seamless and beautiful, can't even tell where things were patched.  Ended up patching more of the ceiling than originally planned due to wiring issues.

Had a few surprises with the floor as well, and couldn?t have known until after demo.  Again, the team addressed the issue and solved it quickly and for minimal additional charge.  Team installed 350 sq ft of 12x24? porcelain tile in dining room and kitchen.  A few tiles weren?t exactly level.  When reviewing the completed job, the team decided to pull them up and replace.

Eli and all members of his team were professional, friendly, hardworking, and skilled.

The quote was well below competition.

Highly recommend and will use for any future needs."

Ceiling Fans questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can install a ceiling fan where a standard light fixture is, as the electrical wiring is often similar and may not need to be replaced. The most important step is to ensure the ceiling can support the fan's weight and motion. You will need to replace the existing light fixture's electrical box with a fan-rated electrical box, which is specifically designed to handle the extra weight and vibration. These boxes will be labeled as suitable for ceiling fan support and will indicate the maximum weight they can hold. Before you begin, also consider if you need an extension rod for a high ceiling or a special mount for an angled ceiling.

The direction you want your ceiling fan to move in depends on the season you’re in. During summer, you want it to move counterclockwise to produce a cooling downdraft. During winter, you want it to move clockwise to circulate warm air throughout the room.

The square footage of your room will dictate the correct ceiling fan blade size. For example:

  • Rooms smaller than 75 square feet require a fan that is 29 to 36 inches.

  • Rooms up to 175 square feet require 42- to 48-inch fans.

  • Rooms up to 350 square feet require 52- to 56-inch fans.

  • Expansive spaces over 350 square feet need a fan larger than 60 inches.

Many ceiling fan mounts feature a design that can accommodate slight slopes by using a ball joint mechanism at the end of the downrod. If your ceiling has a steeper slope than your fan allows for, you can install a downrod that will allow your fan to safely hang below the slope.

Fans not turning on, wobbling, noisy motors, or faulty remote controls are common issues requiring repair.
