I got three estimates and Wells Asphalt was the lowest ($2250). I had actually selected a different company to do the job at first (Ever Ready) based on their positive reviews here and their estimate not being much higher, but after several failed attempts to schedule the job (they never called back when they said they would), I decided to go with Wells. After the first scheduled date got pushed back due to a storm, they showed up promptly the next day. It was a three-man team. They showed up at 9 AM and were finished with the job by lunchtime. "Mission Impossible (transforming an overgrown narrow, rutted, rooty dirt path into a gorgeous 3-ft.-wide edged stone walkway with a small patio and entryway) is complete, and we could not be happier. The installation makes a design statement without in any way overwhelming our 1876 farmhouse—the stone is incredible, the work is artful and solid, and the project seems to grow out of the landscape, exactly what we wanted. The artistry and attention to detail in choosing/placing the stones elevates the installation to something truly special. Since our primary residence is 90 minutes away, we greatly appreciated the numerous photos, texts, and calls to update us on progress, as well as Rock 'N Garden's reliability, timeliness, and punctuality. At the end, the job site was left clean as a whistle. This is five-diamond work, and we have already contracted for another project on our property."

Most of them wanted to charge $3 per square foot for the resurfacing. According to research that I had done on the Internet, it should not be more than $2 per square foot. Our past experience had taught us that we needed to be extra careful with the professionalism of the painter we wanted to hire. My husband and I received a few estimates and we didn't go for the lowest bid. Instead, we were struck by Anton's professional knowledge and sensed that he was probably the guy we needed.
