"Had a leak in the house while we were out of town. They were quick to show up. Then proceeded to disconnect the internet, cameras, security system and heating controls. Not a good thing to happen while you are away. They informed our neighbor the cost and that we would be billed. I told the neighbor that all the systems were disconnected. They told her it wasn’t them. I called the company and was told “they found an empty plug and didn’t unplug anything”. Days later I got someone to the house to reconnect what they had unplugged. After informing them of their mistake, I was told that my house was unsafe and they would have plugged it back in if I had asked them. Say wha?? Gaslight much? They also proceeded to bill my credit card the day of their visit. No apologies, no accountability, no professionalism, no courtesy, no nothing. Just Overpriced, Rude and dishonest. Avoid"

Even if your old air conditioner is still functional, it isn't as energy-efficient as a newer system (especially one with an Energy Star designation). There are a few ways to determine if a vent is open or closed. You can inspect the vent and examine the position of the fins. If there are spaces between them, the vent is open. If the fins are flat and touching, the vent is closed. You can also stand under the vent when the system is running to see if you feel air flowing through it.

You may never need an AC recharge if there are no leaks. However, if your AC unit has a leak that cannot be patched appropriately, you’ll need an AC recharge every time the freon level drops low enough that it disrupts your system—this could be once every two to three years. It all depends on the size and frequency of the leak.

There are many signs of a bad AC fan motor, including if the fan blades don’t spin when the AC kicks on or if they keep spinning when the AC is off. The AC fan cools down the condenser coil, so a faulty motor can also cause the system to overheat.
