"They are great to work with. We’ve had them come to our house whenever we had plumbing problems and a sump pump was put in a few years ago. Now we have a clogged sewer line which Superior will be taking care of. Thank You so much. Your Team is awesome."

"Everything went better than I could of imagined. I have owned my home for close to 30 years and never had a sump crock in my basement, well after the second floor to my basement in the same year I knew it was time to fix it. I set up an appointment to have a free estimate done at my home, Adam and the guys did a great job at explaining to me exactly what was going to happen. Everything was professional and done to my high standards. I have not had any issues since I put the crock in and will continue to have many more nice and dry years at my home. I will give them a call in the future if I need any plumbing work done."

"Erik and Andrew did phenomenal work! Highly Recommend! They came in to correct poor work another contractor left unfinished, did extra work as well as answered all questions. Work including re-piping a renovation of a 1910 farm house including installing sinks, toilets, showers and kitchen appliances as well as a tankless water heater. The work was done quickly and professionally."

"There is never a good time for a hot water heater to go, and in my case it was the Friday before a long 4th of July weekend. A lightning strike sent a surge that ended up causing some issues to my tankless hot water heater and this unit was less than a year old and installed by Cellino. Making a late night call, an answering service took the call and left a message. Shortly there after the owner Tony called to discuss the problem. A tech was sent out the next day and unfortunately the Supplier needed to be contacted to help diagnose the problem and make sure it was covered under warranty. The fact that it was a holiday weekend and the supplier was closed, Tony came out personally and installed a temporary water heater for my wife and my young boys. Upon the arriving of the part, Tony came out first thing and was prompt and professional always being careful to put on his shoe coverings as to not tract dirt in the house. He fixed the heater and was so professional in the process. I would highly recommend Cellino plumbing to anyone who had a plumbing or HVAC need. Its always amazing when the owner comes out to personally take on the job at hand. Its no wonder why the company always has great reviews, exceptional leadership from a hardworking knowledgeable founder."

Sump Pump Installation questions, answered by experts

A sewage ejector pump is necessary if you have any plumbing fixtures, such as a bathroom, laundry room, or sink, located below the level of your home's main sewer line. Standard plumbing relies on gravity to move wastewater and solid waste to the municipal sewer or septic tank. However, for fixtures located below grade (e.g., in a basement), gravity is not sufficient.

The purpose of a sewage ejector pump is to actively pump this wastewater and solid waste upward into the main sewer line. Without an ejector pump in this situation, wastewater would have no way to exit and would eventually back up, causing a sewage overflow or flooding in your basement. If all of your home's plumbing is on the main floor or higher, gravity can handle the drainage, and an ejector pump is not needed.

Yes, you can add a battery to your existing sump pump. There are batteries available that can be plugged into your existing system; however, most battery backups come as a complete system and act as a replacement for your existing sump pump.

Grinder pumps alone cost $300 on average. The average cost to install a new grinder pump is between $2,000 and $4,000, including the pump and labor. This price can also change based on the exact type of grinder pump you choose, labor costs in your area, and the power system your home currently has.

A sump pump can be plugged into a regular, 110-volt outlet with three-prong openings, but it must have GFCI protections per the NEC, meaning you’ll need a GFCI outlet and circuit. Sump pumps require two outlet openings, one for the plug to the motor and one for the float switch.

A sump pump's lifespan is typically 7 to 10 years, though the general range can be anywhere from 5 to 15 years. The specific type of pump is a major factor: pedestal sump pumps last an average of 20 to 25 years, whereas submersible sump pumps last between 5 and 15 years. While pedestal pumps are less expensive to service, they are also louder and more prone to clogging.

Several other factors influence longevity, including the pump's quality, usage frequency, and maintenance schedule. A high-quality pump that is well-maintained in a dry climate may last for two decades, while a lower-quality, poorly maintained pump in an area with a high water table or frequent flooding may fail in six years or less.

Regular maintenance, including annual inspections and tuneups from a professional, can significantly extend the pump's life. It is time to consider a replacement if your sump pump runs constantly, cycles frequently, shows visible rust or corrosion, or trips a circuit breaker. As a preventative measure, many homeowners replace their pumps every eight years. It's also worth noting that a manufacturer's warranty can indicate expected lifespan, and some home insurance policies may not cover water damage from a pump that is past its recommended replacement date.
