"Jim, the owner of this company, responded to my call quickly and was at my house within an hour. My problem was the main drain in the basement was clogged, causing water to back up in my wash tub. Jim quickly snaked out and cleared the clogged drain pipe at a very reasonable charge. He also rerouted the pipe leading from my backup sump pump to the outside of my house. The way it was initially installed would have caused my basement to flood if it was ever activated. The final charge, again, was very reasonable. The quality of Jim's work and patience in explaining things to me was awesome! He even wrapped some kind of special tape around the end of my hose so that a new nozzle screwed on tightly. He is now my new plumber! Thanks, Jim!"

"Everything went better than I could of imagined. I have owned my home for close to 30 years and never had a sump crock in my basement, well after the second floor to my basement in the same year I knew it was time to fix it. I set up an appointment to have a free estimate done at my home, Adam and the guys did a great job at explaining to me exactly what was going to happen. Everything was professional and done to my high standards. I have not had any issues since I put the crock in and will continue to have many more nice and dry years at my home. I will give them a call in the future if I need any plumbing work done."

"Superior Plumbing is SUPERIOR! I called the day after New Year's needing sump pump drain repair because of water seepage in the basement. Dean sent out a technician, Angel, who immediately diagnosed the problem and quoted a very reasonable price (not cheap - reasonable). Angel and Eli came the next day on time and installed new drain tiles in the corner of the basement and snaked out the tiles to the sump pump. They had to break and replace concrete and did a beautiful job and cleaned up everything. They will be my Go-To Plumbers from now on."

"Erik and Andrew did phenomenal work! Highly Recommend! They came in to correct poor work another contractor left unfinished, did extra work as well as answered all questions. Work including re-piping a renovation of a 1910 farm house including installing sinks, toilets, showers and kitchen appliances as well as a tankless water heater. The work was done quickly and professionally."

"Fixed a leaking crack in my basement wall. Did a fine job. I also had them replace an aging sump pump with a double enclosed sump pump system. They replaced all the old copper pipes with new PCV and plex type piping. They even cut up the old copper piping and left it for us so we could get some bucks back when we take in for recycling. Couldn't be happier!"

"There is never a good time for a hot water heater to go, and in my case it was the Friday before a long 4th of July weekend. A lightning strike sent a surge that ended up causing some issues to my tankless hot water heater and this unit was less than a year old and installed by Cellino. Making a late night call, an answering service took the call and left a message. Shortly there after the owner Tony called to discuss the problem. A tech was sent out the next day and unfortunately the Supplier needed to be contacted to help diagnose the problem and make sure it was covered under warranty. The fact that it was a holiday weekend and the supplier was closed, Tony came out personally and installed a temporary water heater for my wife and my young boys. Upon the arriving of the part, Tony came out first thing and was prompt and professional always being careful to put on his shoe coverings as to not tract dirt in the house. He fixed the heater and was so professional in the process. I would highly recommend Cellino plumbing to anyone who had a plumbing or HVAC need. Its always amazing when the owner comes out to personally take on the job at hand. Its no wonder why the company always has great reviews, exceptional leadership from a hardworking knowledgeable founder."

Sump Pump Installation questions, answered by experts

3/4 HP is stronger than 1/2 HP. Horsepower measures how much weight can be moved and how fast, or the power needed to move 550 pounds one foot in one second. 1 HP equals 550 foot-pounds per second, so the higher the horsepower, the heavier the load it can lift. While 1/2 HP is a standard, powerful option, 3/4 HP has the extra strength to handle heavier, larger doors with ease.

To test for toilet leaks, use water coloring in the water tank and see if the water slips into the bowl from the tank. This test will indicate if there’s a problem with the flapper or refill tube. You can also put water coloring in the bowl of the toilet to see if there is a leak there. If there is, you should see the colored water on the outside of the toilet bowl or on the floor.

A sewage ejector pump is necessary if you have any plumbing fixtures, such as a bathroom, laundry room, or sink, located below the level of your home's main sewer line. Standard plumbing relies on gravity to move wastewater and solid waste to the municipal sewer or septic tank. However, for fixtures located below grade (e.g., in a basement), gravity is not sufficient.

The purpose of a sewage ejector pump is to actively pump this wastewater and solid waste upward into the main sewer line. Without an ejector pump in this situation, wastewater would have no way to exit and would eventually back up, causing a sewage overflow or flooding in your basement. If all of your home's plumbing is on the main floor or higher, gravity can handle the drainage, and an ejector pump is not needed.

You should be fine. Most high-grade grinder pumps have a 24-hour holding capacity within the tank. You can continue to use the facilities so long as the power outage does not stretch into days. In a worst-case scenario, attach a generator to the grinder pump, providing it has sufficient electric capacity.

Yes, it’s possible to install a sewage ejector pump outside rather than in a basement. However, there may be some extra steps involved, including running pipes from the inside to the outside of your home and digging (and re-filling) a hole for the basin. If you aren’t comfortable with this type of work, contact a plumbing pro to handle it for you.
