"Our plumber was Edwin Stevens. This was the second time we had hired this company because they also helped us out in the fall. They did exactly what we had asked them to do. The prices were fair and the work was excellent. Mr. Stevens made special time for us because we had a pressing need. He accommodated all of our requests in a timely manner. He was easy to work with and is an excellent communicator."

"Steven was the absolute best… arrived at the very start of only a two hour window, fixed the problem in about an hour. Very polite and courteous. I called three plumbers and he was the first to call me back and the only one who would give me a ballpark figure over the phone. The others wanted to come out and have a look for $70. even though I accurately described the job in detail. I’m thrilled to have a reliable plumber! A more than satisfied customer, Lora Harrigan"

"Lazer took only 30 minutes to come to my place. The water pressure reducer was leaking. Most plumbers would probably have tried to charge me for a new valve. Instead, he quickly tightened a few screws on the assembly and fixed the problem without even charging me. He's earned my trust in NYC Plumbing, Heating, and Drain Cleaning and I look forward to working with him and the company in the future."

"Arber and his team did an outstanding job in installing a washer and dryer in my house. The project required breaking walls and ceilings and dealing with gas pipes. They were very hardworking throughout the project. He was also very flexible to adjust the project, to make sure we were satisfied with the end result. We were very happy with the quality of his work and highly recommend him and his team for any plumbing work. I will certainly contact Arber in the future, in case we need any support of a good quality plumber. Thank you so much! Vanya."

Plumbing questions, answered by experts

When hiring professionals for plumbing in Harrison, prioritize finding certified specialists experienced with older housing stock. Many local homes feature original galvanized steel, cast iron, or lead pipes that require specific expertise. Ensure your chosen contractor handles all necessary local permits and post-completion inspections. Unpermitted work creates significant issues during home sales or insurance claims. Always verify the contractor holds valid state and county credentials before beginning any project.

Helpful?

Start your plumbing updates in Harrison by scheduling a professional sewer lateral inspection, as older clay or cast-iron pipes suffer from severe root intrusion. Request records from your local water utility to check for lead service lines. Inspect your water heater to confirm it meets current code requirements. Finally, test all shut-off valves throughout the property and replace any seized gate valves to prevent severe damage during future emergencies.

Helpful?

Prepare for freezing NY winters by keeping pipe insulation on hand to protect exposed lines in unheated spaces. You should also maintain clear access to your main shut-off valve to stop water quickly during a plumbing emergency. Because older local homes feature outdated gate valves, keep basic tools ready to test them. Understand your sewer cleanout locations as well, since heavy regional rain events cause severe backups.

Helpful?

Diagnose water stains in your Harrison home based on location. A ceiling stain below a bathroom indicates a plumbing leak, while basement moisture points to foundation or grading issues. If you experience low water pressure or discolored water, contact your local utility provider first to rule out municipal supply disruptions. Persistent sewer odors during heavy rain require a professional contractor to inspect your backflow preventer and drain lines.

Helpful?

In Harrison, functional plumbing projects like pipe replacements and water heater installations require official permits and inspections. Purely cosmetic updates, such as swapping a faucet without moving drains, skip the permit process but must still meet current NY building codes. Opening walls for a cosmetic bathroom renovation exposes outdated, corroded materials. In these cases, you must upgrade the exposed pipes to meet modern safety and compliance standards.
