"Extremely satisfied.  Company was responsive (My initial call to them was on Xmas Day when I noticed the sewer backed up in my back yard).  They called me back immediately and  agreed to send someone to look at it the next day (after ansering some questions, we agreed it was not an emergency) - they came the next day as promised and even called prior to their arrival.  The plumber assessed the situation and took pictures to send back to Larry.  I spoke with him and agreed to have them come back on Monday when the equipment  needed to address would be available (needed an extra long hose and camera set up given the location of the cleanout cup).  Each time dealt with the company (Larry) he would call to let me know status and options.  On the day they came, Larry and his associate were at my home at the time promised.  Spent nearly 3 hours and all is well.  So although a bit pricey, well worth it given the responsiveness and professionalism of the company.  Would highly recommend them for any of your plumbing needs.

"I worked with Jesse to help with a clogged bathtub drain after I tried plunging it myself. I explained over the phone that I was dealing with backflow problems and each time I used the bathroom sink the water would end up back in the tub. Unlike another plumber who said they would need to charge me to snake both the tub and the bathroom sink, Jesse explained it would likely just need to be the sink and there is an issue in the shared drainage pipe. Jesse communicated clearly when he'd arrive and on his availabilites, and helped resolve the issue quickly and cleaned up after himself. He also gave me additional advice on how to manage my drainage issues in the future, and another toilet problem I had. Good guy to work with, and got the job done. Would hire again."

"Augusto Zumaeta is a great plumber and a great guy. I had a plumbing emergency. A leak from an upper floor was pouring into my basement and destroying things. Augusto came right away; quickly identified the source of the leak (inside a ceiling above a wall); fixed it quickly and expertly with minimal breach of the wall; and charged a very reasonable fee."

Plumbing questions, answered by experts

Yes, even though frost-free and freeze-proof faucets are designed to withstand winter weather, it is still recommended to cover them with an insulated cap, especially during periods of extreme cold. These faucets work by keeping excess water inside the home's heated space and using a downward slope to drain, but this protection can be compromised. For the faucet to work correctly, you must always disconnect any attached hoses before temperatures drop below freezing, as a hose can trap water and lead to freezing. Ultimately, covering all outdoor faucets, even freeze-proof models, is the best way to prevent frozen and burst pipes.

The standard size of a pipe for the main water line ranges between 3/4 inch to 1 inch in diameter, but ultimately, the size will depend on your household size and its square footage. Depending on the size of the property, the water line size can range upwards to 1.5” in diameter for a very large house nearing 10,000 sq. ft. Incorrect pipe sizing can lead to potential damages and leaks. To avoid incorrect sizing, consider getting help from a local plumbing professional who can help you choose the right size and material for your pipe.

The cost to unclog a drain varies based on the location and severity of the clog. For simple clogs within your home, such as in a sink, toilet, or shower, hiring a plumber typically costs between $110 and $350, with an average of around $200. Snaking a toilet or sink usually costs between $110 and $275, while a bathtub or shower clog costs about $225.

For a more serious clog in the main sewer line, the cost is higher. Clearing a main line clog generally costs between $200 and $600, with an average of about $380. However, prices can range from as low as $100 for snaking a minor clog to over $1,600, particularly if advanced methods like video inspection and hydrojetting are needed for a large or hard-to-reach blockage. Some severe main line clogs can cost upwards of $1,000 to clear depending on factors like the cause of the clog, its distance from an accessible cleanout, and whether the pipe is located beneath an occupied space (e.g., in an apartment building). You may be able to save money on minor clogs by using a drain snake or bladder yourself.

You can choose a few different options for outdoor kitchen sink drainage. You can install a dry well about 10 feet away from your home or patio or install a French drain closer by. You can also drain into your home’s plumbing system, but it is more costly versus using a dry well.

You should flush your water heater at least once a year, with some experts recommending a schedule of every six to 12 months (e.g., once in the spring and fall). The ideal frequency depends on several factors.

If your area has hard water with high mineral concentrations, you should flush the heater more often—typically every four to six months. Additionally, a water heater that is used frequently may require more frequent flushing than one that is used less often.

Regular flushing is important because it removes sediment buildup from the bottom of the tank. This maintenance helps improve the heater's efficiency, extend its lifespan, and prevent issues like clogs, overheating, and increased energy consumption. You can either learn to perform this task yourself or arrange for a service plan with a professional plumber.
