Customers say: True professional

"just now True building Performance's crew did an incredible job for us. The project was to insulate our home. These guys showed up with cheerful attitudes and completed such an incredible and efficient job. From start to finish they were friendly and interacted with our family all while working in the project. The kids enjoyed watching them work. They cleaned up after themselves too which was a pleasant surprise . It was also great that we were able to get more done than we had anticipated. Originally we had elected to insulate upstairs only but we are able to completely insulate the entire house, downstairs being from the inside. They have plastic protecting their workspace from top to bottom. Joe, the lead contractor is so knowledgeable and incredibly acomodating. Paul Mendel the company's owner is the same way. A great company to do buissness with. We are just overwhelmed with gratitude and amazement at what a difference we are already noticing in the reduction of street noise from the cellulose insulation. I would Highly recommend True Building performance to anyone looking to seal air gaps and install insulation."

"What an absolute DREAM! Correct Energy is an incredible company. Knowledge, professional and efficient! I contacted a few insulation companies but the proposed methods were not through. Correct Energy and especially Ray’s knowledge and experience were above and beyond. CE came out to assess and spent a generous amt of time explaining EVERYTHING. CE came when they said they would. The crew was professional and spent a few days here. They left everything immaculate. My place is old, built in the 1940’s so many challenges came up that they handled like absolute pro’s. Their work has and will continue to save so much on energy, the difference of before and after is immediate and drastic. I can’t wait for them to come back and do my basement next! I can't say enough about this company. Pros work here!!! Hire them!!! You will not be disappointed.."

Small jobs welcome

"We hired solutions Construction for several different tasks. Hardwood flooring insulation, installed a new roof on our home, built several pole, barns a gazebo and outdoor kitchen, transformed a shed into a guest house with outdoor shower and indoor plumbing, designed, and Bill to our outdoor living space, re-faced our chimney and redid our indoor fireplace area, built a movie theater in our basement. Everything that this company did was five star plus top notch and we hire him over and over again for all our construction needs.. solution Construction for the win."

Insulation questions, answered by experts

Insulation can be made of cellulose, fiberglass, polyurethane, polystyrene, or mineral wool. Radiant barriers are often made of aluminum or other similarly reflective materials, but they will need to be paired with something else because they don’t provide heating benefits. Cellulose is among the most eco-friendly options and may be recycled when it’s past its shelf-life, whereas polyurethane and polystyrene both emit harmful compounds and will need to be handled with care during installation.

In some areas, insulation companies require a special license, while some states only require them to hold general contractor licenses. Some municipalities may not mandate any license, although you should always ensure a contractor is fully insured. You can use Angi’s license lookup tool to confirm whether or not an insulation contractor you’re considering holds the necessary license for your area. You can also contact the company for information regarding licenses, certifications, and insurance.

Faux wood garage doors provide the best insulation for garages. This style is commonly insulated with polyurethane foam—a thermal conductor—that retains heat and keeps you and the inside of your garage warm.

Ductwork should be wrapped in insulation in certain locations. This includes unconditioned interior parts of the home, such as attics, crawl spaces, basement ceilings, and between floors. Duct joints should also be insulated since they're more likely to leak air than other parts of your system. Building codes in some areas also require ductwork to be insulated.

For a DIY solution to protect an outdoor faucet from freezing, you can craft a cover using spare rags, a durable plastic bag, and duct tape. However, be aware that this method may not be as effective as a store-bought cover. Fabric like rags or old towels can absorb water, which could freeze and cause problems. While a DIY cover can work as a temporary stopgap, a proper outdoor faucet cover is inexpensive (often $5 or less), easy to install, and readily available, making it the recommended long-term solution.
