"Kyle G and Sean W did an amazing job installing my new Mitsubishi HVAC system. Very clean and professionally installed. Both were very friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. Above and beyond my expectations. This was a huge investment and I couldn’t be happier with the results. If you can, I’d highly recommend you request these guys to install your system. You won’t regret it, I guarantee it!! Thanks guys!!"

"After dealing with a large Capital Region company for 20 years; I am glad I made the switch to Veritas Heating and Cooling! I wanted to replace my aging Central A/C unit and furnace BEFORE unexpected major problems/expenses arose that would put me in a position where I would need to --rush-- into getting estimates/new equipment installed. I found Veritas Heating and Cooling through careful research on HomeAdvisor and Angies List. What finally convinced me to get an estimate from Veritas was a neighborhood recommendation I received while asking for an HVAC company referral through the -NextDoor- neighborhood social media website. I contacted several area companies and received estimates, but after meeting Adam I was convinced his company was the one I would go with. Adam is very professional and honest. He did not try to --upsell-- me with features and equipment that I did not need. He asked me key questions and recommended the Heil equipment level I needed based on my answers. Adam is a competent, experienced craftsman, and his prices are fair. His competency and experience were evident throughout the installation and equipment start up process. Adam was very efficient and he has an excellent work ethic. Adam was willing to work with me with the installation time frame as I was not ready to install for 4 months after signing my contract. Adam --locked in-- my pricing with a 50% deposit, and performed my installation as per my schedule (there was a 10% price hike coming at the beginning of 2019). Veritas Heating and Cooling is now my go-to HVAC Company! I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone."

"It went very smoothly. Mr. Mullholland was very helpful and the serviceman was capable and tidy. We weren't asked about what kind of replacement faucet we wanted and the one they installed is kind of odd in the way it works. Whenever we have guests they usually don't know how to operate the shower. So that was a disappointment, but not huge. We also felt the hourly rate was pretty high, but didn't have time to shop around to compare the going rates. All in all, quality service, happy to support a good, solid, local business.

"Jim is local.  It went great. Jim Ferrell is a professional of the highest caliber. Responded quickly, took care of my problems, and advised me as to better means of protection than I had. He came back a second time to uninstall software that I purchased that did not provide adequate protections and installed free software that would do the job.  He did the work through remote connection, but is available on site if necessary.
For those people needing help on getting red of malware, viruses , etc. on your computer,  Jim is local, better than all thse remote out of state location providers, is a mature, highly trained professional in this area.
If you go to local computer stores you get very young people that can do a basic job, but are no where near the professional level of Jim.
I highly recommend Jim to anyone that needs these type services.

Install Boiler questions, answered by experts

No, there isn’t always water in radiators. In a one-pipe system, water is constantly circulating from the boiler to the radiators and back. In a two-pipe system, water travels through two separate channels: one that goes to your radiators and one that returns back to the boiler so it can heat up again.

When winter rolls around, and you turn the heat on for the first time in a year, it’s normal to sense a light odor. This could smell a little like burning because some dust has gathered in the heating unit over the warm months and will fade away shortly after. However, there are some smells you should watch out for and take caution around: an egg-like sulfur smell or an electrical burn odor would indicate there’s something wrong. Turn it off and call a professional for maintenance as soon as possible.

No, boilers and water heaters are not interchangeable because they serve different primary functions. Boilers are used for central heating systems, providing hot water or steam to heat your home. In contrast, a water heater's purpose is to supply hot water for daily household use, such as for faucets and showers. A water heater alone cannot supply the warm water or steam needed for a central heating system.

While they are not interchangeable, it is common to have both a boiler and a water heater. In fact, a conventional boiler often works best when a water heater system is already in place. The two systems can be combined to provide both heating and hot water, either by pairing a boiler with an indirect water heater or by installing a premade combination boiler-water heater unit. For home heating, some homeowners may also opt for a furnace instead of a boiler.

The absence of heating or hot water, unusual noises like banging or gurgling, and visible water leakage are key signs. Abnormal boiler pressure, flame irregularities (for gas boilers), or pilot light issues may also signal trouble. Frequent cycling, soot or staining, and unusual odors, particularly gas-like smells, should not be ignored. Modern boilers often display error codes or lockout mode upon detecting issues. Uneven heating across radiators and rising energy bills without increased usage can further point to problems. Prompt attention to these signs is essential to prevent further damage and ensure safety.

Overall, heating your home with an oil furnace tends to be less expensive than heating your home with an electric heating system. Oil heating systems stay warm for longer periods of time without drawing a constant electrical current to maintain a temperature. Plus, heating oil systems typically have a longer lifespan and lower price tag than their electrical counterparts, resulting in short- and long-term savings.
